  • One of the best shows around!

Whenever I need a good laugh or just want to watch a good show, Comic View is always one out of the few that come to mind. Comic View is a show where stand up comics take the stage and tell jokes. Some are good, others are great, it just depends on what you think is funny. But all-in-all I say it's a good show.
  • Comic View: Very Entertaining

    9.8
ComicView is a stand up comedy show (debuting in 1992) that airs on BET on Tuesdays and Fridays. The current host is Sheryl Underwood. The show has been the launching pad for such comedians as D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, Sommore, Arnez J and Laura Hayes.

In the past five years, the show has moved to different cities such as Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami and New Orleans. The episodes that are currently showing (as of February 2006) were filmed in New Orleans less than a month before Hurricane Katrina. Before the show aired, a message dedicating the show to the citizens of New Orleans.

Now episodes currently showing (as of June 2006) are Classic ComicView where they fuse clips from different shows of ComicView already aired.moreless
  • Def Comedy Jam's dwarfed younger cousin

The hosts on the show were more interesting than any of the contestants who debuted on it . The fact that BET used to show commericals for this show incessantly, ruining the punchlines and causing this show to lose a lot of appeal very early on. Don't get me wrong, there were some truly good laughs to be had. Sommore, and Doug were 2 of the most hilarious Comicview alums. If this show is to continue, I think it needs to be revamped. Make it more of a reality show like Last Comic Standing, but with more black comics performing.moreless

I love Comic View. It always keeps me laughing and cracking jokes. I really loved it when Rickey Smiley was on there. He was my favorite host. They had a episode of Rickey Smiley and I taped it and it had me laughin all night. I think Comic View is really funny, but sometimes they get too into things but it's ok other than that.
