Once again the character of the daughter comes to the foreground in this episode.

The young actress's barely-lucid style of acting is nauseating to watch.

Midler is a force to be reckoned with, as always and when you put someone so obviosly untalented next to her, it's going to be a tough sell.

Bette is still making us tune in out of devotion to the star and in hopes that it will be given a reprive....but even the governor couldn't keep such blatant disregard for Midler's talent from the fry-chair.

Time for Bette to get a divorce, ship the brat to boarding school, get a new musical coordinator and take her friend on a wild comical 'thelma & louise' adventure so they can't go out with as much of a bang as they're worthy of.
