Better Off Ted: Save Ted

That time of year has come rather early this year. The cancellation scare time. And while some shows have been lucky (Modern Family, The Middle, already renewed for 2nd season, and that's a good thing) other shows are being pushed over the edge. Two of the shows in most peril, and practically already written off, are Scrubs and Better Off Ted, both on Tuesdays on ABC.

Now, even though I have been a loving and loyal fan of Scrubs for 8 years, and stayed with them through thick and thin, I believe the show has run it's course and that it is time to let it ride off gentle into TV night. It should have been done last season, but whatever. It turned out to be an experiment with supposedly noble intentions that has gone rotten.

On the other hand, Better Off Ted has actually not yet had a chance to truly shine, even though, and I believe I am not alone in this, it is the best show on any network right now. It is one of those shows that makes you go back to each episode at least twice, and every time you can discover a new joke just beneath those three jokes that already had you falling off of your chair...

Better Off Ted has not received the treatment it deserves, even though it has collected the praise it has earned.Whether for shortsightedness of the powers-that-be or something completely different, Ted is in danger. Let's not flush the baby with the bath water (Ted being the baby, Scrubs the bath water ).

Save Ted campaigns have begun, and you can join, and help give Better Off Ted the chance it deserves.

I just called my local affiliate and they didn't even know about the show. (The receptionists FINALLY found it) I left a message with the program director. Hope it helps.

Couldn't agree more. The time has come to let Scrubs go, but "Better Off Ted" is the best comedy since Arrested Development, at least for me. Probably no coincidence that Portia DiRossi is in both shows.

As much as I hate FOX for killing off several of my favorite shows, this might not be bad suggestion:
"This is no time for worrying about sloppy seconds. If ABC is dumb enough to let "Better Off Ted" go, then Fox should be smart enough to pick up the hot line to its own studio and say, "We'll take it and we'll make it work."

ABC is always screwing over the good comedies.

I personally loved The Knights of Prosperity, and they canceled it after only 12 episodes.

Also, Samantha Who? was entertaining as well I thought.

I sincerely hope Better OffTed gets saved.
Scrubs ran a good run, and though I do wish to see what happens with our med school students..I can accept that it's time for it to end.
I cannot accept Better OffTed's dismissal though.

Of course, they're cancelling the funniest show on TV. Why wouldn't they? Take the funniest show put it on a untested summer schedule the first season, bounce it around a little, throw it back on whenever. Seriously, they're idiots.
Give it a good time slot and let it be. ABC is the network for idiot schedulers though. Take V for example - promote the hell out of it, show 4 episodes then don't do anything for 4 months!!!! Even the people who liked it, forgot about it by then and no one new is going to want to start watching it at that point.

i absolutely love this show. like someone said it's as good as arrested development. the cast are hilarious. my favorite episode was the new light sensors that didn't see black people. i cried i laughed so hard.
