It is a real shame that Better Off Ted was cancelled I do hope it wasn't because of any goo coming from Dr Bomba's Jonnie or it could have something to do with Jabberwocky or 'that thing' but don't talk about the thing behind it's back, it knows and it doesn't like it!
I loved the style that they did B.O.T. in, the rapid fire of jokes but they were all intelligent ones and you never feel that they are overdoing the jokes (even though they are) the writers gave us the benefit of the doubt that we would be intelligent enough to get the jokes without having to listen to canned laughter to point them out to us.
No canned laughter! That is such a relief, did anyone see The Big Bang Theory a couple of episodes ago? Rajesh sits on the couch, turns to his right and rapturous hysterical laughter ensues..... why? It's a bit off putting.
I remember the first episode of Better Off Ted, I really didn't know what to make of it thinking thoughts like 'this is so unrealistic' but then it clicked, I got it and wow! After that it just kept getting better and better and I've now seen each episode several times and will keep them for ever so that whenever I need cheering up I'll just put on an episode to see Veronica using Ted's eight year old daughter to further her own career or see Phil and Lem inventing some seemingly harmless mildly interesting invention that has the potential to kill thousands.
Veridian Dynamics, people love the environment so we do too.
(I still pity that poor chicken they invented which lays 16 eggs a day)
And lastly I must own up that it didn't even occur to me while Phil and Lem were proudly walking around wearing their Veridian Dynamics ill-gotten belt buckles until they walked right up to Ted and asked 'Why didn't you tell us what VD means?'.
Lem: 'Each time you leave the room goes dark.'
Phil: 'Awww, how can I stay mad at you when you say something like that.'
