  • With a whimper, not a bang

Unfortunately, the last episode of the first run was pre-empted by a Presidential conference. However, that may have been a good thing. Judging from the production code, the episode was made much earlier than the left four, and it shows. The Veridian commercial is weak, and the main characters spend much of their time separated from each other. There's no wacky lab experiment references, and no romantic/sexual stuff going on, except Phil's brief infatuation with Veronica, which doesn't go anywhere. Veridian seems... almost normal in this episode. The idea of company-chosen cubicle decorations is cute, but other then that, not much really went anywhere in this episode. If it gets renewed, they'll hopefully look at the other episodes for what they should repeat and improve upon, not this one.moreless
  • Ted and Veronica try making some buddies

I had mentioned in a about 3 or 4 of my reviews, that this show looks like it has been scripted by a 12 year old. And now that the 7 episode season has come to an end, I still stand by it. I honestly do not see any chance of a renewal. If they do test positive on the ratings, I would be darn surprised.

Well, there is nothing to chew upon here. Ted does some crazy stuff with old dudes to get their approval. And Veronica tries to be nice with her inferiors. And finally, they decide to go back to old ways, as things get out of control. And what on earth was the cat group, space group thing. How low can you go? Common, this ain't a kids show. Poor by any standards.moreless

  • TRIVIA (0)

  • QUOTES (13)

    • Linda: I thought decorating the cubicles would create this great sense of community, but you can't base a community on made-up personalities. It's like high school. Only no one's on drugs and everyone's trying to get pregnant.
Veronica: The druggie teen slut is right, Ted.
      Linda: Wh... Hey!
Veronica: I said you were right.

    • Phil: Do you think I look like a possum in this shirt?
Lem: Not in that shirt. Why?

    • Clark: Mr. Crisp, you had a near-unanimous rating of "excellent." In fact, there were even several write-ins of "adorable."
Veronica: Oh, brother, look out Jesus.

    • Veronica: Hi, Balding Guy. I love what you've done with the hair you have left.

    • Voiceover: Veridian Dynamics. Teamwork--it's a beautiful thing. In business, it means working together for a common goal. X-rays show that when people work together, they're happier and less likely to do something weird. Veridian Dynamics. Teamwork. It keeps our employees gruntled.

    • Ted: Look, the company does all sorts of crazy things. That doesn't mean we have to be crazy, too. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go seduce a 55-year-old man.

    • Manny: Ted, you're so put together. It's like you stepped out of a magazine. Didn't you ever get a mustard stain on your shirt, or a hooker's vomit on your pants?
Ted: Well, I did do one of those things when I was 12 at a baseball game. I won't tell you which one it is, but it was the game of my life.

    • Linda: I just made three new friends. Maybe I was wrong about the cubicle themes. For the first time since I've been here, I actually feel like I'm part of something.
Ted: Glad to hear it. I have to go to a strip club tomorrow with a bunch of old men.
Linda: Wow. What theme did the company give you?

    • Ted: Veronica and her hair were working hard on the company's campaign to improve morale. They both put on a good front, but one of them was feeling frustrated and the other was feeling dry and flaky.

    • Lem: I'm sorry, but when I hear an undeserved compliment it makes my ears want to throw up.
Phil: Oh, your ears are always throwing up about something.

    • Phil: My wife says I wouldn't know comedy if it ripped my face off.
Veronica: Good for you for having a wife.

    • Veronica: And the next time some survey asks how happy you are, you check "very," or I'll give you something to be happy about.
Ted: I'm not sure that makes any...
Veronica: The hair is up. That's all they hear.

    • Veronica: Another time, another place. Two other people--it could have been magniflorious.
      Phil: You mean that?
Veronica: I do. Particularly the part about two other people.
