Before the animation portion begins, we are treated to Cab Calloway doing his famous dance style in front of his orchestra as they play the prelude to Minnie The Moocher.
The animation portion begins with Betty listening to her father yelling at her. After it becomes unbearable, she runs off crying. She decides to run away and writes a letter for her parents to find.
She calls Bimbo, and he agrees to go with her. As it gets dark they become frightened of the shadows, so they take refuge in a cave. (What?!!! They're afraid of the shadows, so they run into a CAVE? If these two thought it was dark outside, wait until they see how dark a cave is. As much as I love Betty, I gotta admit she ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.)
Once inside the cave, they're haunted by a ghost, who dances a lot like Cab Calloway, and sings a song made famous by him called "Minnie The Moocher". Things get even worse when a band of skeletons begin to sing back-up. The entire musical number is FILLED with sight gags. (Presumbly to distract the viewer from the lyrics, which are about a woman who's addicted to cocaine.)
After numerous frightening moments, Betty and Bimbo flee back home. A mean father doesn't come CLOSE to a mean ghost.
