The Adventures of Cliff Hanger: Cliff Hanger has an encounter with a massive gorilla in Adventure #3,462: Cliff Hanger and the Big Ape and the Banana Drop. While hanging on the cliff, Cliff spots a very big ape. He consults his trusty survival manual, which advises him to dress as a big banana and then drop. He does so and the gorilla catches him. The gorilla, however, realizes that he does not have a real banana. He squeezes hard, sending Cliff Hanger rocketing up and leaving him once again hanging on the cliff.
Gawain's Word: The knights "cr" and "ash" crash into each other to form the word "crash."
The Word Doctor with Dr. Ruth Wordheimer: Two installments of this segment are presented in this episode. In the first of the two, Dr. Ruth helps a monkey who has a long word freakout when it comes to the word "thunderclap." She shows him how to sound it out and then predicts rain when a loud thunderclap sounds. In the second installment, Dr. Ruth helps the word "sad," who is tired of being the word that it is and wants to change. She tells it to get rid of the "s" that's making its ad "sad." After it does so, she attaches "gl" to the beginning, so the word is now "glad."
The new words in this episode are cha-cha, chap, collapse, snatched, scrape, and thunderclap.
The target vowel in this episode is the short "a" sound in the word cap.
The key word in this episode is cap.
Buster: Take this cap off me. Ah, never mind. I look gorgeous.
Announcer Bunny: And now, Walter and Clay Pigeon trap a cap!
Clay: Buster, you'd look better in a cap.
Walter: So we're gonna get you one.
Leona: Well, I loved the monkeys. (chatters like a monkey)
Babs: That's very nice, but a story's got to be more than chattering monkeys, at least until it's made into a movie.
Dr. Nitwhite: Is that (sighs with delight) Babs Caplan, the author?
Click: Affirmative. That is Babs Caplan.
Dr. Nitwhite: Oh. Do you think she'd mind if I watched her write with my beak resting on her shoulder, just for an hour or two?
Click: Yes. She posted a 'do not disturb' sign on my hard drive.
This is the second episode that involves a character writing a story.
This is the first appearance of Babs Caplan.
