Yo! Yes? / Very Loud, Very Big, Very Metal
"Yo! Yes?"

Lionel reads Leona the book Yo! Yes?, written and illustrated by Chris Raschka. In the book, two boys make friends using sentences of no more than two to three words.

Segments throughout the story focus on short sentences and words starting with the letter "y."

To show Lionel how much she appreciates him, Leona finds Lionel a music video. The music video is one he really enjoys, about loud, big and metal things such as construction sites. Later, to thank her, Lionel shows her a book about birds.

      • Fun with Chicken Jane: This episode features the story Chicken Jane and the Vulture.

      • The Adventures of Cliff Hanger: Cliff Hanger overhears two scientists talking about how they yearn to find a yodeling yellow yak in Adventure 2,712: Cliff Hanger and the Yodeling Yellow Yak. He consults his trusty Survival Manual, which advises him to dress up in a yellow yak costume and yodel. The scientists are interested, but ultimately decide that this marvel of nature should be left where it is. Cliff protests that he's merely wearing a costume, but the scientists have already left, leaving him stuck on the cliff. And that's why he's called Cliff Hanger!

      • Dr. Nitwhite: In this segment, Dr. Nitwhite makes an amazing discovery, or so he thinks. He finds that the word '"yes" is the only word in the English language that starts with the "ye" sound. His assistant, however, discovers that "yet" also starts with this sound.

      • Gawain's Word: Gawain visits Blend Mart in this segment, in which two knights with shopping carts -- "Yo" and "yos" -- blend together at high speed to form the word "yo-yos," which they then shop for.

        Then, in a rare second Gawain's Word segment, "V" and "ines" blend to form the word vines, which they shop for.
