An interesting start to the post-college era for the characters. The series still keeps you interested. It's interesting to see the characters, some for the first time in their privileged upbringings, struggling to find work, although most of them go to Hawaii in the next episode.
Donna deals with the emotions of having sex with David. She gets a prescription for the birth control pill, where she runs into her mother at the drugstore. She is offered a job in Hawaii, and Steve, Brandon, David, and Valerie go with her. Valerie gets a job spraying perfume, for which she is embarrassed. Valerie is still scheming in this episode, in trying to work at the Peach Pit again, as well as in going to Hawaii. Brandon and Kelly face problems living together. Steve meets a single mom (played by Hilary Swank) while babysitting for Erin. The character of Carly, the single mom, is likeable immediately. You almost felt bad for Steve when he and Claire broke up, until the last episode, when he got together with Valerie. And this episode he's already on another date with Marcy, a waitress from the Peach Pit After Dark.
I'll admit one of the reasons I like the show is for 90's nostalgia, and in this episode, the Foo Fighters "Monkey Wrench" is played and there is a cosmetics counter for Hard Candy, a 90's cosmetic brand, when Donna and Kelly are at the mall.
