  • It's a Season 1 episode. What more can I say?

    5.5
Jim and Cindy decide to help out their housekeeper (Anna) and let Anna's "niece" use their Beverly Hills address so she can attend West Beverly High. What they don't tell Brandon and Brenda is that this girl, Carla Montes, is a star witness in a homicide. But of course, Brandon meets her and falls in love, and Carla is his weekly fling. Also Jim has his first gold star client, Chick Schneieder, who sells beachware. In typical season 1 style, the episode turns into a big example of "Whiny Brandon." Brenda is actually the voice of reason in this rare instance, and she does a good job of telling Brandon what the score is. Jim also plays the father role quite well in telling Brandon what the priorities need to be. Just an average Season 1 episode, with no real historical significance. MVC: Brandon (9), Brenda (7), and Jim (4)moreless
  • introducing a minority into the script...again

    9.5
The Walsh's maid has a neice who needs to use their address to attend West Beverly. When she starts attending the school, Brandon falls hard for her. No one is very happy about it, because she is obviously hiding something important. As they get more involved, Brandon begans to wonder. Finally, at a big time party for one of Jim's clients, the neice is working for Brandon and he throws a fit that the girl he is dating is working as a server at his house, showing they come from two different parts of life. After the big blowout with his father, the neice is allowed to return home and we find out she witnessed a 4 year old's murder and was in the witness protection program, and although she is a minority, she is well off and can no longer see Brandon.moreless
  • Pretty good episode!

    9.2
The Walshs agree to let Carla, their maid's extremely intelligent niece, use their address to enroll at West Beverly High. Brandon falls hard for her and doesn't understand why everyone seems opposed to their relationship. Carla reveals that she witnessed a drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a four-year-old; she had moved in with Anna while waiting to testify, with protection from the D.A. Carla returns to her family after one of the killers confesses. Jim and Cindy organize a soiree for his new client, a sportswear designer. Dylan, Steve, and the girls receive free clothing. David wants MC Hammer to perform at the school dance.moreless
