  • Isn't Brandon too short to play hoops?

Brandon decides to try out for the West Beverly Hills Basketball team. Both Steve and Andrea point out that he's pretty short, which is kind of funny. Anyway, turns out that West Bev is a powerhouse, and Steve insists that it's because they recruit out of district for the best players, and that those players shouldn't be eligable to go to school there. You immediately know where this one is going. It's a pretty good story in terms of the stereotypes we have, particularly when this is a show about rich white teenagers in the ritzy city of Beverly Hills. Anyway, it quickly goes to an investigation done by the Blaze. Everything turns out to be untrue, despite Steve's blatant stereotyping. Meanwhile, Brenda takes drivers training again, and fails again. Pretty funny stuff. Pretty much a filler episode, thought it dives into some racial issues. It's a Season 1 episode. Not much more.
