I can't remember if this incident happened in this episode, or possibly the previous episode, but David catches Noah buying condoms out of a condom dispenser. Suspecting that Noah and Donna are going to have sex, he guilt trips Donna that he had to wait seven years, David complained to Donna that Noah didn't even have to wait seven weeks.
David and Donna did not actually wait seven years, since they officially started dating in the fall of 1991 and had sex for the first time on the 1997 season finale. Therefore they actually waited about 5 1/2 years. On top of that they weren't together continuously during this period since they broke up for a short time after David dumped Donna on Christmas Eve of 1993. Then they were on hiatus for about two years after David cheated on her on the 1994 season finale.
