Jim thinks Brandon is working too hard, but won't support him at all in his quest to have his car by the end of the summer. Brandon meets a rich dude named Jerry Rattinger who takes a liking to Brandon. Rattinger doesn't understand Jim's thinking at all and offers Brandon a job doing pretty much nothing so he can pay for his car. Meanwhile Brandon also starts fraternizing with his older co-worker, Sandy. Dylan warns him not to knowing that Rattinger is actually Sandy's sugar daddy. Brandon has it out with Jim after Jim sticks his nose up at the Beverly Hills Beach Club, and then proceeds to ignore Dylan's warnings about Sandy, and has a nice little fun date. Rattinger only "hired" Brandon simply to drive his wife home so he can hit the sheets with Sandy. When Mrs. Rattinger tells that to Brandon, he cuts all ties with Sandy and Jerry. After a nice heart to heart with Brandon, Jim reveals to Brandon that not joining the club was actually a money thing after not taking the job in Minneapolis. A pretty nice episode, with a good wholesome father-son type plot to it. MVC: Brandon (19) and Jim (9)moreless
