It's interesting because now that Brandon left and Dylan came back to Beverly Hlls, the original characters from before the Walshes moved there are back with the exception of Andrea Zuckerman.

Even though Luke Perry returns to the cast in the opening credits he's featured as a special guest star, that's how he's featured for the rest of the series.

Strangely, no one questions Steve's decision to offer Dylan champagne immediately after his arrival, despite the fact that Dylan's alcoholism has been an established part of the series for eight years. Dylan had never shown any indication that he could have an occasional beer or glass of wine without drinking himself into a stupor.

Vanessa Marcil joins the cast as Gina Kincaid, and Luke Perry rejoins the cast.
