  • This episode has finally got me interested in the show, now can we quit the build up and get on with it

Another episode to establish another villain who gets away at the end. That's not to say this isn't done well, this is my favourite episode to date. And we get the mention of the first semi-mainstream Batman villain, Ra's al Ghul. Good to see more of Lt Gordon (and Barbara too for that matter) and interesting interpretations of Humpty Dumpty and Tobias Whale.

But a lot of set up is going on and the only one developing is Katana and League of Assassins (kudos for using the real name) we need to see more of the villains that got away and what their next plans are.moreless
  • "All the king's horses and all the king's men can't put Humphrey Dumpler back together again"

I was very excited about this particular episode, I know this was shown at comic-con, so I figured it must be special in some way. I can't really figure out why this one was shown, don't get me wrong, I thought it was great, but nothing really stood out as being something really unique. I was hoping they would allude to the more creepy aspects of Humpty Dumpty, his grandmother gets a passing mention, but of course, just like Professor Pyg, I don't expect them to be as psychotic in this TVPG rated show. That being said, I did really enjoy Humphrey Dumpler AKA Humpty Dumpty, I liked his voice, his design, his size made him imposing, like the scene in the garage, that sinister laugh, and yes, I found the ending to be really creepy, and I figured they really would have him commit suicide by intentionally falling off a castle wall while reciting the nursery rhyme, I think it would've been a perfect ending. It reminded me of the ending to the BTAS Mad Hatter episode, which ended with the villain acknowledging defeat and reciting a rhyme that fit the situation. But then that would mean I wouldn't get to see Humpty Dumpty again, so actually I'm glad he's still out there and at large, same with Professor Pyg, Mr. Toad, Anarky and Silver Monkey, so the only villain that Batman has managed to capture is Magpie, the only female villain so far, but I don't think there's anything behind it really. So I loved the action as usual, really fluid, I liked Tobias Whale, great voice for him as well. The toy soldiers reminds me of Toyman and his first Superman TAS episode. One thing that did confuse me was that Humpty Dumpty wants revenge on Tobias Whale, Gordon and some others which were responsible for him being hit it a missile or something, anyway he gets caught in an explosion and he wants revenge why? He survived, he doesn't seem to be physically scarred, okay, maybe he wants revenge on Whale and the other criminals for almost killing him, but why go after Gordon? I got to say, there's so much shooting in this one, this was the first time the censorship bothered me slightly, it didn't ruin anything, it just became very noticeable. I hope we get to see more of Humpty Dumpty.moreless

    • Batman: I hacked your phone and modified your SIM chip. Gotham PD should really get better security for their equipment.
Lt. Gordon: I'll stick that in the suggestion box when I get a chance.

    • Batman: Someone is sending Gotham a message, Lieutenant.
Lt. Gordon: How did you get in here? Why do I even ask?

    • Alfred: Oh, sorry, my dear. Rule of thumb. Never sneak up on an old spy while he's making a sandwich.

    • Barbara: Hey, Dad. I got us that low-fat low-salt corn-beef hash you like.
Lt. Gordon: Barb, you know I happen to like the one with extra fat and extra salt.

    • Tatsu: Is this a good idea? Are you sure Mr. Wayne is out of town on business?
Alfred: Oh, Mr. Wayne is almost always out on some kind of business. Best to make the most of it.

    • Lt. Gordon: Why would Humpty Dumpty do that? Just let them all go.
Batman: Humpty's broken, but that doesn't make him pure evil.
Lt. Gordon: Lovely. Did you get that from your costumed vigilante book of proverbs?
