Episode Summary

After Endora promises to curb her witchery for the evening, Samantha arranges a dinner for Darrin's parents and her mother to meet. Darrin is fearful of the results. Frank Stephens has just retired and feels lost and insecure. Endora, being utterly charming, as she has promised Samantha, plays up to Frank. Frank once more feels life is worth living, but Phyllis becomes jealous. Before Phyllis is through, she is sure Endora wants to take Frank from her. She asks Darrin for the name of a divorce lawyer. Darrin and Samantha work feverishly to save the marriage. Despite their efforts, Phyllis takes a train to Arizona and Frank boards a plane on the first step of a world trip. Samantha asks Endora's help. Using her witchcraft, Endora brings both train and plane to Angel Falls, where Frank had proposed to Phyllis years before. Samantha is nervous at the thought of bringing her mother, Endora, (Agnes Moorehead) face to face with Darrin's parent's, Phyllis and Frank (Mabel Albertson and Robert F. Simon) for the first time and so, when she arranges a cozy dinner party, she makes Endora promise to behave herself. This Endora promises to do and all that Sam and Darrin can do is hope that she keeps her word.

Darrin's father has recently retired and is feeling lost and bewildered but soon cheers up considerably when Endora, at her most charming, totally captivates him. The two of them get along like the proverbial house on fire and arrange an outing together to which Phyllis is invited but frostily announces that she won't be coming along. Clearly, she is jealous of the vivacious Endora but does not know how to express it. She is quite convinced that Endora is scheming to take Frank away from her, even though nothing could be further from the truth.

When Phyllis mentions divorce, Samantha knows she must step in quickly before a 40 year marriage ends up in tatters. To this end, and with the help of more than a little witchcraft, she manages to re-unite the feuding couple at Angel Falls, the place where Frank proposed all those years ago. Whilst there, they realise that age is a state of mind and that they still love each other as much as ever.moreless
