Being a witch, Samantha knows instinctively when her baby will be born so when she begins having contractions, she estimates an hour or so until the delivery. Darrin is both nervous and ecstatic at the same time as he waits for the news, meanwhile Endora informs him that he has nothing to worry about as Samantha knows exactly what she's doing.
After a very short time, a beautiful baby girl is born and both parents are proud and ecstatic. Picking a name for her though is more of a problem, until the hospital informs them that the baby'sname tag says 'Tabatha Stephens'. It is soon obvious that Endora is behind the naming of the child and Sam and Darrin are furious with her. Meanwhile, Endora wonders what the little girl will look like when she grows up and when Samantha's cousin, Serena (also played by Elizabeth Montgomery in a black wig) turns up at the hospital for a visit, Darrin, seeing her, mistakenly believes that Endora HAS performed the spell and that Serena is a grown-up version of his daughter.
When all the misunderstandings are sorted out, the new parents surprisingly agree that they like the name 'Tabatha' and that they will give that name to the baby. Needless to say, Endora is extremely pleased.
This is a terrific episode in which we see the baby's birth and our first glimpse of Samantha's 'bad girl' cousin, Serena. Ms. Montgomery doesn't an excellent job of playing both roles and did so many times during the 8 year run of the series.
