  • Aunt Clara doesn't know how to feel when she receives a visit from an old flame who is still as marvellous and dashing as he was many years ago.

Hedley Partridge (Charlie Ruggles) once had dear old Aunt Clara's heart firmly in his hand and she is worried when she learns that he is coming to visit her because she doesn't want him to know the embarrassing truth concerning the fact that she barely has any witchcraft-like powers anymore and almost all of her spells go completely wrong.

When Hedley arrives, it's clear that Aunt Clara (Marion Lorne) is as smitten with him as she ever was and he obviously feels the same. Samantha is delighted to see the two old people talking about the past and clearly enjoying each other's company.

Aunt Clara is very surprised when she finds out that her wonderful former beau has in fact got the same problem as she does - his magic no longer works properly either! Aunt Clara is relieved and delighted that she is not the only one getting old and the two of them enjoy a romantic dance together, with an unusually soft-hearted Endora supplying the dance music with a magic violin.

A really sweet episode, lovely to watch and with just the right amount of laughs and sentimentality.moreless

    • Gladys: (complains) She walked right into the wall and bounced off again. So any reasonable person would figure it was an accident, right? Abner: But what did you think, Gladys? Edit
    • Gladys: The next time she went right through the wall! Abner: Well, that makes sense. Gladys: What? Abner: There's no point in banging your head against a brick wall. Edit
    • Aunt Clara: (refers at her old friend) He's in the magic supply business. Isn't that nice? Of course, I mean, it isn't witchcraft but at least it's an allied line. Edit
