Darrin, as always, has his nose to the grindstone at McMann and Tate and it doesn't look as though it's going to get better anytime soon when his boss, Larry, (David White) tells him that he can't take a planned vacation with Samantha because he has to be there to meet an important client.
Both Darrin and Samantha are very upset by the news but they know only too well that Larry won't back down. Endora feels both angry and sorry for her daughter and decides to 'help' by splitting Darrin into two - a full-of-fun Darrin who can take Samantha away on vacation as planned, and a workaholic Darrin who can stay behind and meet with Larry and the client.
At first, Samantha enjoys her vacation with her new, fun husband, but soon becomes very bored when he spends all his time chatting to other people and generally being the life of the party and not spending any time with her. Meanwhile, the workaholic Darrin is so driven that even the money-hungry Larry Tate and the client and bored to tears by his constant talk about the client's account.
Samantha isn't happy and she knows the only way to fix things is to re-unite the two "Darrin's", which she successfully does.
A very good episode and a lot of great acting skills shown by Dick York as he tackles the 'Two Darrins' with tremendous success.
