Samantha wants to be an independent woman and have her own driving licence and Darrin has no objection -until he tries to teach her and they find themselves doing more arguing than learning. They both agree that a qualified driving instructor is the best option and so, Darrin arranges for Sam to have lessons with Mr. Harold Harold (Paul Lynde) who is far more nervous than his pupil and who needs tranquilizers and a helmet just to get behind the wheel!
The first lesson doesn't go very well and Sam is discouraged, while Harold Harold is just plain scared and depressed. It turns out that the owner of the driving school is one of his many brothers-in-law, and that he has only had the job for three weeks. Judging by his teaching methods and Samantha's initial lack of progress, it looks as though he will soon be unemployed, a state of affairs that he is entirely used to as he has had four jobs in four months!
When the poor instructor hears the playful Endora's voice from the backseat but can't see anything, he is understandably upset but worse is to come when he is fired due to his total incompetence. Samantha feels partly responsible for his dismissal and refuses to have any other instructor, threatening to go to another driving school unless Mr. Harold is reinstated. Her ploy works and all is right with the world as her lessons continue without further incident.
A very enjoyable episode, greatly enhanced by the comedic talents of Paul Lynde.
