    Hi All,

I liked Darrin as a character but his attitude to witchcraft really annoyed me. He kept going on and on about how Samantha wasn't allowed to use witchcraft because she was supposed to live like a mortal wife and then, when something went wrong and witchcraft was needed, he always told her to use it. Also, his mother was an interfering pain in the neck who was always trying to find fault with Samantha, but she was welxome to stay at the Stephens home at any time, yet Endora, even when she was ill during one episode was almost turfed out and Samantha had to plead with him to let her stay for just one night. Granted, Endora certainly gave him a tough time, but Phyllis did the same to Samantha (although not to the same extent)and that didn't seem to bother him.

Like I said, I liked Darrin but he seemed to want to have it both ways.

He was inconsistent. It seemed like in a crisis he would always say "Sam, DO something!" as in witchcraft. There was a whole episode built around the situation where he told her not to use witchcraft to get ready but then became angry with her when she wouldn't use it to fix the flat tire.

Yes, those are the things which drove me crazy as well. The inconsistency. And Darrin was often very mysoginistic.

There was one episode where Darrin takes what he thinks is moon dust to a pharmacist & then worries what will happen to Sam after he does it. What I find disturbing about the episode is I always assumed Darrin didn't want Sam to do her magic because if it became known people would panic & they couldn't have a life together. Yet in this episode he has no problem taking this dust to a outsider because Sam may have beaten the US to the moon what the hell!!!!

Yes, precisely, you all understand exactly what I mean. If Darrin wanted withcraft to be used, then that was ok, but if he didn't, then it wasn't. Very inconsistent. And yes, the Moondust and the tea being taken to the druggist COULD have gone horribly wrong but he was more interested in what he wanted to find out.
