Hansel and Gretel are brought to life by Tabitha and are very sad and hungry. Tabitha decides that they should spend the night and goes into the storybook to ask their father. Samantha finds out and goes in the book after her, leaving a confused Darrin and the Tates at the dinner table. Worst of all, Hansel and Gretel run away again to look for food in the real world. In the storybook world, Sam finds Tabitha locked in the wicked witch's house. She brings Tabitha home and after a whole lot of confusion and police involvement, Hansel and Gretel are sent back into the storybook. Now, to get out of the situation of putting on a play of "Hansel and Gretel".....moreless

William Asher, the Executive Producer of "Bewitched" and husband of Elizabeth Montgomery, has stated in several interviews that Season 8 of the show was, in his opinion, the weakest. This is one of those episodes which makes me agree with him.

Tabitha likes the story of Hansel and Gretel but she finds herself feeling very sympathetic for them due to their plight and zaps herself into the story book to ask their father if they can spend the night at her house. When she gets herself into trouble with the nasty old witch, Samantha finds it necessary to go into the book herself to save the day.

Not one of my favourites, but I'm sure it will appeal to children.moreless
