When Samantha and Darrin realise that they need some extra help with Tabatha for babysitting etc., Sam hires Elspeth, (Hermione Baddeley) who was her nanny when she was a child and who also happens to be a witch herself.

Things run along quite smoothly, with Elspeth being very good at her job (much to Darrin's delight) until her former employer, the aristocratic Lord Montdrako (Reginald Gardiner) arrives on the scene and creates quite a fuss because until recently, Elspeth was working for him and now he wants her back. Unfortunately for him, Elspeth wishes to remain where she is, a fact which doesn't please his magical lordship much at all. Naturally, he has to take his wrath out on someone and that someone is the poor mortal! Thankfully, Samantha is able to sort everything out with some common sense and compassion.moreless
