Episode Summary

EDIT
Samantha gives a dinner party to impress Rex Barker, one of Darrin's clients. Rex brings along his date, Babs Livingston, but advances on Samantha in the garden when he gets drunk. To teach him a lesson in treating people with respect, Samantha changes him into a dog. Darrin, thinking only of the possible loss of the account, is furious and Samantha locks him and the dog out. Endora sets a cat on the dog (Big mistake!). Samantha takes Barker to a vet and then changes him back to a man. The next morning, Barker, not having learned a thing from the night before, again makes a pass at Samantha (Very BIG mistake!). Darrin punches him and quits on the spot. Later, Barker apologizes and signs the contract on condition that Darrin return to the agency.moreless

  • When a client of Darrin's makes unwanted passes at Samantha, she does what any good witch would do - she turns him into a dog!

    8.5
Darrin has an important client, Rex Barker (Jack Warden) and he and Samantha give a dinner party for Rex and some others in the hope that Rex will sign an important contract with Darrin's firm. The meal goes extremely well but afterwards, Barker makes several very definite passes at Samantha who, in her fury, turns him into a small, scraggly dog. Instead of being understanding, Darrin is extremely angry because of the importance of the Barker account to the firm. Samantha is none too pleased about this and locks the dog outside while banishing Darrin to the couch.

Naturally, Endora can't help getting in on the act and sets a rather vicious cat on Barker which results in quite a few injuries for the dog! When Samantha finally returns Barker to himan form, we find that he hasn't learned his lesson because he once again, he tries his 'charm' on Samantha. This time, it's too much for Darrin and he punches him. Following this, he quits his job at McMahon and Tate but returns to work after Barker apologies for his behaviour and insists that Darrin continues to work on his account.moreless

    • Endora: What's all the excitement? That little pussycat won't hurt Mr. Barker.
Samantha: You call that a pussycat?
Endora: What do you call it?
Samantha: A mountain lion. It'll tear Mr. Barker to shreds.

    • Mrs. Barker: Can I tell you something, honey? That little girl you married is a witch.
      Darrin: Pardon?
Mrs. Barker: In all my life, I never saw one person that could throw together a dinner like this. And she did it all by herself. It's like magic.
Darrin: She's very gifted that way.

    • Samantha: And I'd rather you didn't show up at the party tonight, if you don't mind.
Endora: Why should I? I'm only your mother. I won't be around forever.
      Samantha: Wanna bet?
