Rodney (Richard Dreyfuss) is a young warlock whom Samantha used to babysit and who still has a major crush on her even after such a long time. She is less than impressed when Rodney appears at her house and declares his intention to be with her forever. He simply refuses to believe her when she tells him that she is perfectly happy in her marriage to Darrin and that she wants himto go away and leave her alone.

Rodney has no intention of giving up that easily and turns himself into an adorable, grey, shaggy mutt and camps out on the Stephens' doorstep, where Darrin sees him and takes an immediate liking to him. He thinks that he and Sam should keep the dog, not realising that staying is exactly what the 'dog' has in mind - except that he expects Darrin out of the way very soon!

When Samantha realises that the loveable dog is in fact Rodney, she is extremely angry, and gets rid of him out of her life for good with the ultimate threat - she summons his no-nonsense mother who takes him away!moreless
