When Gladys and Abner Kravitz (Alice Pearce and George Tobias) give baby Tabatha a gift of one share of stock, both Darrin and Samantha are touched by the kindness, particularly as the stock, quite a bit of which the Kravitz's own themselves, has been purchased in Tabatha's name. The stock is a "safe" one, according to Abner, because it's price has gone neither up nor down in over 20 years, however, when it rises rapidly overnight, Darrin and Samantha wonder if it's possible that their daughter already has magical powers and is making the dormant stock rise through the use of witchcraft?
As the stock price increases, Samantha, Darrin and Tabatha rake in even more money. When Tabatha is holding a newspaper and points to a listing on the stock page, Darrin cannot resist buying one share in her name and seeing if it rises. When it does, he is convinced that magic is behind it.
When Gladys and Abner find out that any stock Tabatha points too immediately rises out of control, they sell all their other stocks and place everything on Tabatha's 'tip', which fails dismally, meaning the poor middle-aged couple have lost all their money. Darrin and Samantha both feel terrible about what has happened so when Tabatha again 'selects' a stock, Darrin purchases it and the neighbours get their money back while Darrin tries to work out how he feels about his very young daughter having the ability to use magic when she is only still a baby.
