Poor Darrin. Due to Endora's spell, everyone hates him. When Darrin's job is on the line, Samantha wants Endora to remove the spell.
  • Nothing pleases Endora more than to see a universally disliked Darrin, especially when she has caused it!

From the first episode of this show to the very last, there was never any love lost between Darrin and his witchy mother-in-law, Endora, even if they did have the occasional brief truce.

Here, we see that they are fighting again and Endora's temper gets the better of her so she puts a spell on him which makes absolutely everybody dislike him intensely - just as much as she does in fact, if not more!

As Darrin continues to alienate everyone, Samantha begs her mother to lift the spell before Darrin loses all his friends as well as his job at McMann and Tate. Reluctantly, Endora does so, but she preferred it the other way.moreless

    • Up to this point in the series, generally Endora's spells have been on objects associated with Darrin, such as a statue, a watch, a bowl of popcorn, etc. With this episode, Endora's spells are placed directly on Darrin, causing him to perform different sorts of exaggerated behavior (e.g. too cheap, too vain or too snobbish) or to have everyone react to him in the same way (e.g. hating everything he says or loving his ideas even when they're terrible). This plot device will arguably become the most overused one in the entire series.
