  • great Larry Tate moments, Darrin at his funniest.

    8.5
Unfortunately, in syndication, there might have been an editing glitch before the opening credits? The episode begins with Samantha doing something an ordinary housewife would do, in this case, cutting pieces for a dress for Tabitha. It looks like a bunch of fun except that Tabitha tell Samantha she should just twitch your nose and be done with it. Samantha's tells Tabitha that daddy doesn't approve of witchcraft, which Tabitha is now able to give her mom a semi dirty look.

Darren walks in, a small box behind his back. He goes to the table and give Samantha a kiss, Samantha tells Tabitha to go up and get ready for bed. Apparently, it is the sixth anniversary of the couple's first date. Darren gives them the package, and inside is a small music box, with jewels on top and playing a song about Sorrento. Darren says he's taking Samantha to dinner, and Sam response my mother is babysitting, just in case you decided to surprise me. Endora answers once Darrin has gone up the stairs. But Endora is not enamored of the jewel box the way Sam is. She calls Darrin in a cheapskate. Samantha tells her that she has everything she wants. It appears that Andorra will cast a spell but unfortunately the credits cut right in before Endora's hands come up to her spellcasting stance. So it has you wondering.

The next scene after the credits shows Darrin's office, where his secretary is greeted by a rather rag tag looking so-called professor with a rather silly looking furry troll-type doll he wishes to introduce to Mr. Stephens for a possible business venture. When he places this silly doll he calls "The Fuzz" on the secretary's desk, she naturally acts like it's a wonderful product when it's in fact rather silly. You can guess that Darrin is convinced by her that this is some product worth looking at, and he gets the Professor in with Darrin right away. The two start talking business and it looks like Darrin will take the bait, but as an associate, he arranges to cut the deal for the company to earn the profit, since we know how ethical Darrin is. Larry never sees the doll I believe, so he isn't charmed and it sounds ridiculous over the phone. Larry tells Darrin he can have the deal for the doll for himself and consider it moonlighting after hours and never to do business on the doll on company time.

Darrin starts negotiating deals all over the place and the silly dolls are reportedly selling out, according to the Professor, Larry and the secretary. Darrin urges the Professor to make more, and Larry is desperate to get in on the action, now that Darrin is profiting enormously. Sam is aware these dolls must be enchanted and calls Endora down to explain.

It is wonderful to see the sparks fly with Darrin and Endora. Darrin, as played by Dick York also has such great chemistry with the rest of the cast, this is probably the last really fun episode we have with the whole fun cast. Nothing is going to make Darren and Samantha happier than if these deals with the dolls go away, meanwhile, nothing is going to make Larry and Endora sadder if the deals don't continue to generate a ton of insane amounts of witchly profit!

A very fun episode and really sad to see the last of its kind get snuffed out with poor Dick York's poor health.moreless
  • Endora should definitely become an account executive!

    8.0
Endora doesn't feel as though Samantha is living in the right style for a witch of her station and so, she creates a small fluffy toy called The Fuzz which, when exposed to mortals, charms their socks off. Larry and Darrin are both delighted with this new toy, but, of course, Darrin has no clue that Endora is behind it, and are astounded by the huge numbers of orders from around the world.

Intoxicated by thoughts of immense wealth coming from the sale of the toy, Darrin gets carried away with the idea of buying just about everything under the sun for his wife and daughter. Samantha is not impressed by the fact that all of this was aqccomplished by magic and the spell is removed. She tells Darrin that riches don't matter to her, only him and his love. Naturally, Endora is disgusted!moreless
