  • When Glady's younger brother, Louis, a highly talented violinist is pressed upon to play again after many years, he is very reluctant due to stage fright.

In this final episode of Season 2, we meet Gladys Kravitz's younger brother, Louis, a highly talented and very arrogant violin virtuoso who refuses to play anymore because of an awful incident at Carnegie Hall when his pants fell down whilst he was performing on stage. This is a flash back episode to when Samantha was still pregnant and she and Darrin meet Louis (Jack Weston) over dinner at the Kravitz home. They both find Louis to be an extremely pompous and uppity man but cannot deny his talent when he plays a short piece on his violin for everyone. Naturally, Gladys (Alice Pearce) is extremely proud and, like everyone else, thinks Louis is wasting his talent and should go back on the stage.

After a lot of convincing, Samantha shows Louis that everyone suffers embarrassment at some time and that he should just put it behind him and go back to playing the violin which, as he already knows, he does superbly. Finally, Louis is convinced and when he appears on television for the very first time, naturally, the only thing that can happen does happen. His pants fall down!

This season finale marks the end of an era in two ways. Not only was it the final "Bewitched" episode to be filmed in black and white, but it was also the last appearance of the hugely talented Alice Pearce as Gladys Kravitz. Ms. Pearce passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 48 and the role of Gladys Kravitz was played by Sandra Gould from Season 3 until the end of the show in Season 8.

A very good episode on which to end the second season, full of fun, laughs and terrific performances.
