On the website, there is a prize money counter, thats set to $0 at the moment, so we could assume that they will have to earn the prize money and they will keep a tally.

Did anyone else notice the careful wording used in BBs announcement to the housemates?  He said that last year the total prize money was $1 Million and that "TONIGHT" the total prize money is $0.  Does anyone else think that the usage of "tonight" rather than "this year" was deliberate?

The housemates can be punished without fines. They can have the shopping budget reduced/removed, they can be isolated from the others (white room maybe?...)

I really think that was deliberate. I didnt actually notice bb say that, but I did think it was strange when Gretel said, "there is no ALLOCATED prize money this year".

The punishment room is still there, in the same place as last year.

As for the money, you can see on this page that they apparently can win up to $50,000 this week: http://bigbrother.3mobile.com.au/prizemoney.html

It probably has to do with the tasks.

Agreed, but even if they have a chance at 50,000 a week....thats a max of like 500,000 for the whole series...and we all know they wont pass EVERY task they are given.

BB will probably give them a chance to make up tons of money in the last task or something

ya you guys are probably right. one thing is for sure, the winner certainly will get some sort of worthy prize, the question is how it will come about.

I heard the main prize is gonna be a $500,000 house & land package.

Glad to see some people actually love BB. Some Supernatural & Veronica Mars fans aren't too happy re BB being back on.

That's how I see it too. I mean I am the biggest Supernatural fan out, but Monday's ep of BB only ran over like 15 mins. And I love VM, but it's been taken off for Uplate. Btw I love Mike Goldman.

    I'm the same.

And I'd still go on Big Brother, even if there is no prize money.
