Big Brother's Big Mouth

Show Summary

The host introduced topics which related to the Big Brother (UK) house at the time, which were then discussed by celebrity guests and the studio audience. Members of the public were also encouraged to join in, through the internet and phone contact.

The show was represented in the media by a eye, which is different for each series, often trying to incorporate a theme for the series. These were often released before the show actually began and were also used in the opening titles of the show. The theme tune by Paul Oakenfold and Andy Gray is released under 'Big Brother Theme' by Element Four - tweaks have being made to the theme used throughout each series.

The series began life under the title Big Brother's Efourum, hosted by comedian Russell Brand on Channel 4. The show began from the start of series 5 of the normal Big Brother series, it proved popular and returned for the next Big Brother series in the UK - series 3 of Celebrity Big Brother. The format was then altered, with the desk removed from the studio and the audience becoming a more integral part of the format. The show also moved to a late night slot on E4. Russell remained for the next four series, (BB6, CBB4, BB7 & CBB5), when upon him leaving, throughout the run of BB8 a guest host or hosts took over the show for a week.

Mathew Horne & James Corden proved popular with the producers throughout this series and returned to host series 8 of the show, running alongside Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack, due to other work commitments, they left the show after this series.

This Meant that throughout the ninth series of Big Brother the guest host format returned, which not only featured the return of James & Mat, but also featured Jack Whitehall, who hosted for a week at the start of the series, returned later in the series and then became the host of the latest series running alongside Celebrity Big Brother series 6. Main show host, Davina McCall then took over as host, with a format change for the show, which saw it begin to air for just one night a week for an hour.

Throughout series 8 of Big Brother (Australia), the title Big Brother's Big Mouth was used as a new weekly spin-off show, similiar to the forum aspect of the UK show, however airing more risque clips. Throughout series 3 of Big Brother (Bulgaria), the title Big Brother's Big Mouth was also used, in a show that proved so popular it's original slot of three times a week, was extended to four shows a week, the next series of this spin-off is changing its name to Big Brother's Little Sister, as the host was previously male, however has now been replaced by a female.moreless
