All season, Bill has been trying to get the casino up and running, and things are finally set in motion with the wives finding out. The decision and the vote was just a very intriguing plot, and we got some classic Margene lines here. Her humor is definitely the best thing about her, and the line at the end about the spanking was just hilarious.

Nikki with a gambling problem? Now we know why she was going for the casino. This is really in character considering she had a problem with debt last season, this story line really suits her. And I'm looking forward to seeing what her gambling will do to the family.

The interactions between Ben & Margene were definitely the best though. The scene in which Ben called Margene a spanker was absolutely hilarious, and it was a great scene in general. We've got Scott & Sarah development, as we do with Bill's mother and her wanting to get a divorce. Overall a great episode that sets the final episodes in motion, cannot wait for the finale to be honest.moreless

You have to love Bill Henrickson here. Just when it seems like he is a pushover for his wives, he does something cruel like this, shipping Greg to another store, because he did some kind of deviant things with Margene. He did give the lad a pay raise, but it was still a move to get him away from his third wive for good.

Even though I know the outcome Big Love does an excellent job of really questioning the viewer as to whether or not Roman Grant will live. They are pushing him as dead, but can you ever stop the man?moreless
  • Bill pushes Weber Gaming on his wives, Roman teeters on the edge in the hospital. Alby pretends to be given divine rights, and Ben loses it over Margene.

I thought this was a very good episode. Not quite as good as some of the others in the near future, but very good nonetheless. It figures that Alby will try to assert his power over Juniper Creek with his mother right beside him. They are both so power hungry its kinda crazy. Ben flipping out over Margene having dated someone else before his dad is very telling. I think Ben has feelings for Margene that he clearly has not dealt with yet and those are going to explode sooner or later and there will be consequences. I was also not at all surprised that Nikki took to gambling so quickly. She clearly has an addictive personality as we saw in season 1 with her shopping habits, I wonder how this second addiction will work out with her family. I am really interested to see how everything will play out in the last three episodes. Sad to see the season end!moreless
  • Be careful what you gamble

    9.4
Bill lets the wives in on Weber gaming. It is almost disturbing how each of them play off of each other and know which buttons to push to get the desired result. Bill tells Nicki about it before Barb, and then lies to Barb and says she is the first one he told. He may not know it but he is just adding more fuel to the fire that is building in their family. Barb is against the gambling venture and she tries to get Margene on her side but Margene makes up her own mind. Also some strange things are happening with Ben and how he views Margene. Maybe he sees a little of himself in how Margene used to be and it scares him. At any rate, the way things are going now I would be very surprised if this family makes it through unscathed. Barb is against polygamy, but she knows she is kind of stuck. She in NO way wants her kids to live this life. This is going to cause major friction with Bill & Barb in the near future, I think. And in other news, Roman survived but is in serious condition. Alby sees his chance to fill Papas shoes and keep Bill from taking control of the UEB, so he is stepping into Romans role. I cant wait to see how this one plays out. And in another (not so shocking) development...Nicki has a highly addictive personality. I thought it may have ended when the big credit card debacle came to a head in the first season, but I was wrong. Nicki snuck into her Fathers office during Albys meeting and stole a huge amount of money. Is she using it for her family? No....she is gambling with it.moreless
