I think now that its all been outed to the public as the 4th season goes... there may be a change of pace and a sign to start the beginning of the end for season 5. I think if I was a writer for season 5 I would show even more turmoil ripping the family apart in what was a good intentioned gesture by Bill to reveal his polygamous status to the world. I mean we have seen Bill come of age and really struggle from Home Plus frachiser to small town politician. He has moved heaven and earth to provide for his family, and whether you love him or love to hate him, we should see this man be tested in season 5 to show his true strength of character.

I do think however the sympathy for Bill we felt in previous seasons should be earnt again in season 5 OR NOT , since there may be some apathy fans feel toward him for his poor decisions in season 4 when he burnt too many bridges to his family and especially to his long time best friend and business partner. Either way it will be a testing time for all the characters.

In season 4 we saw him risk life and limb for his parents and sons capture to the Greens. Perhaps we can see a return of the Greens and a personal vandetta to finally settle the score between them. Margies woes to dividing up her loyalties should be tested further, as we saw a hint of Anna embracing her new found status with her partner Goren. It would be a perfect opportunity to see Bills reaction as his own hipocricy last season was showcased when he confronted her about having 2 husbands.

Nikki's pursuit for not wanting to share her husbands affection should increase even more, as her insecurities to please Bill with a 3rd child continue. I would have Barb begin to question her relationship with Bill, and even considering becoming a single mother with just Teeny by her side as her eldest moves away too for study or work. It would be a credible premise, since she has never quite seen eye to eye about polygamy, having even sacrificed her own relationship with her sister and mother to support Bill. I see her as someone who made one too many compromises and is just beginning to question her own lack of happiness because of decisions past.

I would love to see these story arcs to fruition, as the underlying story of him now being a politician comes to bear.

In the end it could go either way. Bill having to make a decision to give up his selfish political ambitions as he sees it tear up his polygamous marriages. Or he may become more entrenched in his stubborness only to see Barb and Margie leave their seperate ways. Perhaps this will open up Nikki's desire to have Bill be monogomous with her. The irony being that when he finally loses all he finds that he only ever needed the love of one lady who was always loyal to him, to feel significant and not overburdened with duty. At this point I feel that woman should be Nikki who although "broken" as she puts it, has done anything he asks of her. Including Bills dirty work in an effort to garner his validation. I think Barb is admittedly over Bill, and Margie is way too volatile to hold onto at this point. Maybe Margie serving as a good antithesis to Bill for season 5 despite Bill never being a saint either. But it would contrast his own questionable idealogies and bringing to light how Bills polygamy and what may become Margies polyamorous relationship with Anna and Goren are difficult to weigh even with the best of intentions.

All in all wherever season 5 ends up Im sure it will see some interesting twists and turns.

I just hope Season 5 ends on a positive note about polygamy instead of a negative one because I thought this show was about putting polygamy in a positive light and lately they've been showing more of the negative side of itto the point of starting to deteroriate the very polygamousfamily the show is focused on.

I think season 5 needs to have some refocusing. Season 4 was... well.. lets not talk about season 4. Season 5 needs to put the family together more like they did in the first 3 seasons. It shouldn't focus too much on the senate or the casino, or Margene's jewelery business. It should focus on the struggling family. I think it should end on a positive note. I think it would be quite sad seeing the series finale ending with the family being torn apart. All the fans are too invested in the characters to see an ending like that. Season 5 should start out with difficulties in the family, but then it should slowly recuperate itself and end on a happy note. Maybe bring back Sarah & Ben for the series finale.
