Bill Moyers: A World of Ideas - Writers

Show Summary

Bill Moyers: A World of Ideas - Writers is a collection of interviews of some of the top literary minds in the world by the one of the world's most respected journalists. Known as the type of interviewer who can take a half-hour interview on various topics and turn it into a mini-biopic that will be studied for decades, Moyers has chosen an all-star cast and interviews them on topics that are close to their own work. Tom Wolfe's interview touches on Wall Street, an area which the contemporary novelist has perhaps made his greatest impact. Joseph Heller, the author of Catch 22, sits down to discuss politics as only he perhaps can. Carlos Fuentes, the author of The Old Gringo, spends time enlightening the viewer on Mexico and the cultural and political background that gave rise to the vivid scenes painted within his work. Twenty-one other authors also take part in this compendium of writers' thoughts distilled over the course of the past three decades.moreless
