She watches him get in a car. He pulls away and she chases him on foot. She eventually catches up and jumps over the car to land in front of it. She jumps at the car and the driver swerves and it crashes into another car. She goes over to the car and takes the suitcase. She makes a call to Tom.

JAIME: So where were we? Oh yeah, don't do anything crazy.

ACT ONE

Becca asks Jaime if they have heavy cream or bacon. Jaime asks if she's making a heart attack. Becca questions if Jaime wants her to make dinner for her boyfriend or not. Jaime tells her that she doesn't want to kill him and that he is not her boyfriend. Becca tells her that she just wants her make a really good impression. Before she leaves Becca asks if she can have fifty dollars to pay for all of it.

Jaime arrives at Berkut and Antonio accuses her of being "chatty." He looked at her cell phone log and knows that she was talking to Tom during the stakeout. He says that if she wasn't distracted by him that she could have taken the guy out with a lot less risk. She tells him that there is no risk – she's bionic. Antonio responds that she's not immortal and that he is talking about the risk to Berkut. He tells her that she is learning,

but that a rule of thumb is that relationships and counter espionage don't mix. She questions if that's why James Bond never had a steady girlfriend. He says that having one is overrated, and she tells him that he is such a guy.

In his office, Bledsoe talks about what is in the case – fifty caliber depleted Uranium tipped bullets. Antonio adds that they were created specifically for the Chambliss Optical Tracking System, and that it gives the rifle an effective range up to 2.5 miles – fatality one hundred percent. Jaime tells them that that is farther than she can see. Antonio says that that is at least 1.5 miles farther than any other rifle. Bledsoe tells her that the US developed it. Fortunately they recovered four dozen rounds from the driver. However, the army managed to lose six dozen rounds along with the rifle. It was stolen out of an armored vault. It ended up pointed at President Rudan, dictator of Imara, two weeks ago. So if the ammunition is in the country the rifle is as well. President Rudan is arriving in three days for a horse race. Jaime questions that someone is trying to kill him. Bledsoe explains to her that Rudan rules by political terror, abduction, assassination, and torture. Antonio adds that it's not just with the people he doesn't trust – he knows because he spent some time there. Jaime questions why they are going to protect him. Bledsoe tells her that they can kill him all day long in his country, but that if it happens there, it only powers anti-American nationalists. Essentially they are protecting the bad guy.

The president's security guards check out the hotel to make sure it is safe. Antonio tells the guard that the security during the president's stay won't be a problem. The man says that he doesn't see the need for American body guards and that his men are the most respected security soldiers in Africa. Antonio tells him that feared is a more accurate word. Antonio says that he loves their country; it's the genocidal dictator that he doesn't like as much. They argue about it. Antonio says that he watched the president kill a thousand of his own people.

Antonio and Jaime go outside to do a perimeter search. She asks what they are looking for. He tells her that they are looking for places with a clear shot and a good hide. Antonio guesses the places that it won't be, and what rooftop he would shoot from if it were him. She guesses that he has done this before - taken people out on rooftops. He tells her that people sleep peacefully because people stand ready do violence on their behalf. She tells him that she has to go – she has a therapy session with Ruth and then dinner with Tom and Becca. He tells her that she has balls, but he means because of her relationship with a CIA operative after everything she's been through. She wants him to stay out of it. He tells her that it's never going to work. She asks him who the woman is who broke him. He laughs and questions why women always think it is a woman. She tells him that she is going to get it out of him.

Jaime talks to Ruth, who asks her why she is always resisting the therapy sessions. Jaime tells her that it is because they make her come and that it is boring - she feels like a science experiment. Ruth tells her that it is meant to help her. Jaime tells her to tell her about her own day. She says she can't do that, and Jaime tells her to break the rules. Jaime tells her that the Berkut, not just her office, is not inducive to opening up – it's as warm as a hospital bathroom. She asks if it would kill them to put up a painting or a plant. The alarm rings and the time is up. She leaves.

Becca is cooking when Jaime comes home. Tom arrives with flowers and wine which Becca takes from him. He kisses Jaime and tells her that her sister is adorable.

They eat dinner. Becca asks Tom how long he has been involved in calculator manufacturing. She then asks how they met exactly when their jobs are so different, and they both answer different things, Jaime saying that he bought a timeshare. Tom says that he is the one that asked her out. He says that she was a reason he bought a timeshare in Florida when he hates Florida. Suddenly Jaime's cell phone rings. It's Antonio, who tells her that plans have changed and that the president is arriving now. She tells him that she will be there. Tom questions that there is a big sale and she agrees and makes up an excuse. She tells Becca that she will make it up to her. Becca is noticeably upset. After Jaime leaves she tells Tom that Jaime does that sometimes.

Nathan talks to Bledsoe and tells him that he was watching the air traffic control in preparation for Rudan's flight, but there was unusual activity – a private plane. Bledsoe suggests that the president might be bringing extra security. Nathan tells him that the software also gives him access to the computers and security cameras at the airfield. He brings up a video and they see that it is the president himself trying sneak in under the radar. Bledsoe tells Nathan to call Jaime.

He is worried because the airfield is unsecured.

Bledsoe calls Jaime about it, saying that it's the perfect opportunity for the sniper, but she is already on her way. She tells him that Antonio called her about it, but he says that he couldn't have because he just found out about it. Jaime isn't very concerned about it and hangs up

Becca tells Tom that she is so sorry and that Jaime is not usually like this. She tells him to try not to take it personally, and that she thinks that Jaime really likes him. Tom tells her that he knows that she doesn't want to have dinner with an old guy she just met, and that they can take a rain check and that he will take the two of them out to dinner, maybe the following week. She agrees. His cell phone suddenly rings. He tells Becca that Jaime is lucky to have a sister like her and that he is sure she knows it. He leaves.

Once in the hall he answers the phone and tells the caller that "she" just left a few minutes ago.

Rudan arrives at the airport and the sniper is almost ready. Jaime hears a gun cock.

ACT TWO

Jaime runs as the sniper prepares to shoot. Antonio is already there and she yells to him. He tells the president that they need to get him to safety. The sniper shoots as they scramble. They all get into their cars and go.

Antonio tells the president's security guard that they should leave for his safety, but he won't listen. He tells the guard to let him talk to the president. Jaime comes up to try to talk to the president but the security guards stop her. Rudan apologizes and they let her through. She tells him that he is not safe and that a horse is race not worth dying for. He says that he is not afraid to die for his beliefs and his people. She gets up and walks away. Tom is there. She questions that he is on the case, and he tells her that they just called him in for backup. He questions where here protective gear it. He says that it is typical of Berkut – they think rules don't apply to them. Antonio buts in and says that Tom is talking to his partner and causing another distraction. She tells Tom that she will call him. Antonio gets her to leave.

Antonio tells Jaime that he told her that it was a bad idea. She tells him that she doesn't need relation advice from him. Jaime suddenly finds something on the ground, bags it, and asks him what it is. He thinks it might be a piece of rubber. She says that she is not sure if she should trust him with it, and asks how he knew the president was arriving before Jonas called her. He tells her that his good friend Bomani called him. She tells him to level with her about the "woman thing." He tells her that he was in Africa working undercover with a woman. They were assigned on point for a raid at terrorist training camp. They got the location but the terrorists got her. He knew that they would torture her, but he had to do his job and get back with intel. He had to leave her there. When the missiles arrived, she was still there. It was considered a good mission. Jaime apologizes, and when he can't hold a straight face she realizes that he just made up. He tells her that she doesn't need a story to trust him. She tells him that she is going to Berkut. He tells her that he is right behind her. After she has walked away he takes his foot off of a bullet that he was hiding from her and picks it up.

When Jaime gives Nathan the evidence he questions that it is all she got. He tells her that he will run tests on it. She asks him how long it will take, and he says that given it is just a small piece of rubber, not to give him attitude. She says that she will be at home to let Becca yell at her.

Ruth stops Jaime in hall on the way out and asks if she can show her something. She brings her into the office and shows her that she got a plant. It's small bonsai, but she seems happy about it, and tells her that she wants her to be comfortable there.

Jaime comes home to find Becca in bed. She tells Jaime not to screw it up, that Tom is a great guy – he is smart, funny, kind, and crazy about her. Becca says that Tom is so much better than her usual loser dates. She says that she knows that Jaime has a wild, self-destructive streak, but to keep it under control.

Antonio takes the rifle bullet and opens it, taking out some of the gun powder to weigh it. His phone rings and he answers it.

Jaime's cell phone rings. It's Nathan. He asks her where she is at, and she tells him that she's in bed.

NATHAN: What are you wearing?

JAIME: Focus, Nathan.

She asks him why he is calling, and he says it is to gloat – he ran the test and already got a solid lead on where the shooter might be. The rubber was a piece of a sole of a high end sneaker. It had chlorinated residue on it that he traced to the Waterfall Apartments. He tells her that Antonio is on the way. She asks if a team is on the way and he tells her that Antonio said that the shooter would see that a mile away, so he was going to handle it by himself. He told Nathan not to bother her and to let her sleep; he could handle it.

NATHAN: Now would be the part where you say, "Wow, Nathan. Really, really great work. You're so smart and hot and…"

She hangs up on him.

Jaime walks outside and sees a couple making out. She hears them talking about her with her bionic ear and knows that they are watching her. She disappears to them and then comes up behind them. She knocks the man to the ground and holds the woman so she can't leave. She asks them why they are there. The man tells her that she is going to have to talk to ask Agent Hastings. She says that she doesn't have time for this and starts to tell them to tell Tom something, and then thinks better of it, and says that she will tell him herself.

While driving, Jaime calls Antonio but only gets his voicemail. She questions where he is.

Walking by the apartments, through a window she sees a man and woman fighting. She then sees Antonio in the car on the phone, and hears him telling someone that they know they were there and are sending agents, so to stay away.

ACT THREE

Jaime walks over to Antonio's car and he asks her what she is doing there – he told Nathan to let her sleep. She says that they are partners. He says that she is right. They go down stairs and into the room, only to find that the shooter is gone. There is a board covered with photos and some articles about the president. Jaime looks like she is suspicious of Antonio.

Jaime goes to Bledsoe and tells him that she believes that Antonio is communicating with the assassin. Antonio knew the president was arriving sooner and told Nathan not to bother her. When he asks what she did, she says that she just pretended that she didn't hear him. Bledsoe tells her that she did fine. He knew that Antonio had strong feelings about the leadership in Imara, but he didn't know they were that strong. Jaime says that he needs to bring Antonio in, but he tells her that she does. Bledsoe tells her that she has to give him false information that the president is changing his box at the racetrack. Antonio walks in and Bledsoe tells him that the president has changed his location and will be sitting in a box below. Antonio tells Jaime that he will take the tower and for her to take the other part. She agrees. Upon leaving, he asks her what is up with her, but she tells him it's nothing. He just assumes it is about her relationship with Tom.

Tom is there when Jaime is on her way to her apartment. He says that he heard she took out two of his agents. She tells him that she can't believe that he had her followed, and sarcastically thanks for the vote of confidence. He tells her that that is not why he had her followed. Tom tells her that when someone in the CIA starts a relationship, they have to tell the organization, and then they check that person out, that's all. He told them that she was his girlfriend, on paper. He says that it's stuff like is she who she says she is - normal stuff in his line of work. Tom questions if she is all right that - not being followed, but the other thing. She tells him that she doesn't know – she has so much going on right now, and she can't tell him what it is. She tells him that she will call him later.

At the racetrack, the president heads to his seat. Meanwhile Jaime and Antonio look around. They then both move off in opposite directions.

The president arrives at his box.

Meanwhile the shooter readies the gun. Jaime and Antonio continue to watch. Jaime then starts following Antonio. Having at some point realizing she was following him, Antonio is waiting for Jaime and grabs her before she walks past. He puts a gun to her head.

ACT FOUR

Jaime tells Antonio that she heard him talking to the assassin and knows he is in on it. He questions if she told Jonas. She tells him that she had to. He explains to her that he is not working with the assassin, but he does know her. Antonio tells Jaime that he and the woman were stationed together in Imara about three years ago. They saw a lot of bad things. She has been working underground against the Imaran government ever since. She has gotten in too deep. When he heard about the assassination attempt, he thought that it might be her. The night at the airport he found a cartridge – hand loaded, by her. To a shooter, that's as distinctive as a fingerprint. He tried to stop her, to talk her out of it, but he couldn't take her down because she saved his life before, which makes it hard to put a bullet in her. Jaime asks him why she should believe him. He responds that she should because he is asking her to, and that he is trying to stop the shooting as much as she is. He suddenly realizes that if Jonas thinks he's on the other side he would have fed him false information, which Jaime confirms. This now makes the president an open target – they can't let him die on American soil. He tells Jaime to take the president, and he will take the tower. They both go to their respective places.

As the horses race to the finish line, Jaime and Antonio race to save the president. Meanwhile, the woman is setting up and loading her rifle. Jaime scans and sees the president. She hears the gun being cocked with her bionic ear. Jaime runs and jumps an impossible height onto the roof. The shooter has Rudan targeted and is almost ready to fire. Jaime runs to the box and leaps through the glass, right as the shot is fired, to the president where she knocks him out of harms way. More shots are fired as security rushes to get the president out.

The shooter is getting away. Jaime runs after her, past a dead security guard. She continues into the tower where she is shot at by the woman. Antonio catches up, pulling his gun, and tells the woman to stop. She tells him that a person doesn't see what they saw and forget about it. She tells him that he's been working private sector ops too long, but was always good at walking away from things. He tells her that he didn't walk away from her - he had to complete the mission. She responds that now she is going to finish her own. Jaime tells Antonio to take the shot, but he just tells her to shut up. The woman tells Antonio that he should have listened to her and then shoots him. Antonio falls as the woman gets away.

ACT FIVE

Antonio rides in the ambulance while Jaime holds his hand. She questions that the woman is the one who broke his heart. Against the EMTs advisement he takes off his oxygen mask to talk to her. He tells her that he had to get out, but she did always have more nerve then he did. Antonio says that he should have never left her alone in Africa. He tells her not to ever let that happen to her – it's not easy live with. He says that he should have had her back.

Antonio crashes and the EMTs use the paddles to try to restart his heart but are unsuccessful.

Jaime sits in Bledsoe's office crying over Antonio's case file. Bledsoe walks in and puts his hand on her shoulder. He tells her that the first time is the worst.

Jaime shows up at Tom's apartment in tears. He asks her what happened. She tells him that she can' do it – she's not cut out for it. He hugs her.
