- The secret machine guns out of music instrument cases was popularized by the gun-splattering El Mariachi movie series by Robert Rodriguez, where the main character carried a violin case full of guns. Roberta's briefcase serves as a rocket launcher, which is a similar move by a character in Desperado who uses his cello case as a rocket launcher, although Roberta doesn't lean down and fire it from over her shoulder.
