  • Baring the editing issues, this episode is a wonderful adventure with the Black Sheep Squadron and well worth watching.

Cat's Whiskers is a fun, exciting, and typical Black Sheep Squadron episode. Colonel Lard is after Major Boyington and several of the other Black Sheep. He was able to by-pass General Moore and send court martial papers to the Admiral. Boyington decides the only chance he has is to fly a mission that gives him, Lard, and Moore honor.

While Lard attempts to stop him at every turn on the Allied Command Island, Boyington is able to get the supplies they need and to get off the Island twice. When they need intel on the Japanese island, we see the wonderful way the Black Sheep can con themselves into and out of even a Top Secret filing cabinet.

Boyington accomplishes restarting the war effort and a high risk to himself and his men. Instead of getting the medal he deserves, he avoids his court martial.

While there are many editing problems in this episode, you can ignore them by watching the story not analyzing the episode.
