Episode Recap

The transformed Detective Boone is being transferred by one of Van Sciver's trucks and manages to escape, disintegrate the other subject-vampires, and kills the driver.

Blade is at his location meditating and reviewing his battle with Fritz as Shen reviews the information they have on Van Sciver and his organization. They haven't heard anything from Krista. Blade plans to capture Fritz so they can dissect him and find the source of his new invulnerability. They also wonder if Van Sciver is using the vampire ash as a new drug for his own troops.

Krista is at her new apartment when to her surprise her mother comes in. Overcome by bloodlust, Krista attacks and drains her, then wakes up to realize it's a nightmare. She's locked in and Fritz and Chase are outside gloating-Chase plans to make sure Krista is gone before long.

Chase is testing Fritz's immunity to spikes when one of the House members, Winston arrives, and Van Sciver reluctantly admits the vaccine is stable.

A storefront reverend, Carlyle, meets with Sherry, who is addicted to vampire ash. After she goes, Blade arrives and the reverend admits he doesn't have an official position in the church. He and Blade obviously have history and he's concerned that Blade will turn the area into a battlefield. Carlyle directs Blade to one of the dealers, Cain, and tells him to find one of the pusher's addicts. Blade finds one customer and applies some physical brutality to get Cain's location.

Krista is having trouble with the blood thirst and takes a shot from her secret stash of the venom Blade provided. She comes out to find Van Sciver waiting for her. He assures her that she'll eventually get through it and then offers her dinner. Winston leaves Van Sciver and then head's to Mina's.

Blade brings his prisoner back to his HQ but the man refuses to talk so Blade hangs him up. Winston meets with Mina who has a number of drugged humans for feeding purposes. Van Sciver and Krista have dinner and he briefs her on her new status as a vampire and the fact there are twelve "Houses." She asks him about the ash trade and discusses Blade.

On the streets, Cain takes vampire ash and goes after Winston's driver outside of Mina's, where Winston feeds on a drugged human.

Krista bows out and Blade is waiting for her and tells her to get any information she can on Fritz. Van Sciver arrives and Blade slips away. Winston gets into his car but Cain is in the front seat and shoots him with an incendiary crossbow. He then drives the car to an ash preparation warehouse.

Chase and Fritz inform Van Sciver that Winston has disappeared and they've traced it to Mina's. Fritz wants to go but Van Sciver is insistent that Fritz stay out of the public eye so Blade can't get hold of him. Blade beats up the asher and then lets him go so they can follow him to his source.

Van Sciver and Chase go to Mina's where she shows them the dead driver, a gun shoved into his chest. Van Sciver believes someone else is responsible and then kills Mina, who has been losing clients. Fritz is taking out his frustrations on a body bag (literally) and Krista sounds him out on what Blade can learn from him. Fritz admits he can survive in daylight and has immunity to all the other vampire weaknesses. Fritz mentions "Project Aurora" as the source of the vaccine, and expresses his disgust at being locked up, then realizes that he has talked too much.

Chase is torturing Sherry about where she's getting her ash and gets results when she threatens her child. Van Sciver is talking by phone to his superior, Charlotte, and is forced to send Fritz to Prague for assessment. Fritz tells Van Sciver about Krista's questions and he confronts her, and she says she wants the treatment as well. He mentions Fritz is leaving and then Chase interrupts to tell him they've found Cain, and they decide that Krista and Chase will lead the assault team.

Blade follows the suffering addict to the warehouse, where Cain has figured out something's up. They get reports of something in-bound, and Fritz gets the report as well and figures it's Blade. The assault team enters the warehouse but it's been cleared out. One of the men finds the asher, gagged and bound. Krista figures out it's a trap and shoves Chase to cover as one of the soldiers takes off the gag, activating a silver-shrapnel grenade. Chase is injured in the leg and shoulder, and then Blade arrives. He draws down on them, but Fritz arrives by car and sends Blade flying.

Chase tells Krista to stop Fritz, but the super-vampire sends her flying and then attacks Blade. After a fight Blade knocks down Fritz but Chase opens fire, driving him back. She then sends Krista to kill Blade to keep him from getting Fritz. Instead Krista decapitates Fritz, and the resulting mystical explosion knocks her back onto a wooden shard. Chase shoots Blade repeatedly but his bulletproof vest mostly protects him.

Back at his HQ, Blade is removing the bullets and is unconcerned about Fritz's death. He believes Krista is the key to infiltrating the House of Chthon. Chase has taken the badly injured Krista back to Van Sciver who prepares her for treatment.
