Jill Wagner just announced on her myspace site that Blade the series has been cancelled.

There was probably only one reason for cancelling the series:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

They probably think they could produce 50 episodes of UFC and Wrestling then spending that money on a quality show like Blade.

I don't think the ratings were an issue. I read the premiere had like 1.5 M viewers.

Yeah! If the show doesn't wind up underneath SG-1, at Pazsaz Entertainment's "Cancelled TV Shows" website, there's still a whole lot of room for hope.

I'm waiting from a Spike exec to confirm that this is official too. This was supposedly told only by Jill Wagner at myspace. It's not official yet, so I won't believe it till it is official.
But everyone should sign the petition just in case. It won't hurt.

I had zero reason to watch Spike prior to Blade. And if this rumor is true, I'll have zero reason to watch it again.
Gee, they finally get a decent show of their own and they cut and run that fast? That network deserves to be in the basement of bad cable networks.

i've signed the petition and i hope blade gets the second series it deserves, i hope this horrible news is is just a rumour and that we will have new episodes of blade back on our tv screens soon, because if it doesn't happen nobody will watch spike tv again.
if spike doesn't pick it up i hope someother network will and give blade the home it deserves sooo much. i don't know what i'd do if blade didn't get a second series it deserves that much at least.
blade is good for everyone for a number of reasons:
1.) it gives spike tv the most viewers it will ever have
2.) it will boost the actors profile, i mean i hadn't heard of any of them till blade
3.) blade has great actors and storylines
4.) it will make the actors and network millions
5.) it gives us all something great to watch every week and gives us something to talk about everyday
6.) blade is just 100% great and must come back at once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's Jill Wagner's bulletin about Blade:

Just wanted to say thanks again to all of you who supported me and Blade the Series. I was just informed today that there will be NO 2nd season of Blade the Series. I really enjoyed playing Krista and i hope that i did her justice at least for one season! However, that is not the end of Jill Wagner's acting career. I will keep you guys posted on what's next for me. Again i say thanks for the support. Hey, there is always the DVD right????
