Uryu: You know my reason... what's yours? Ichigo: My mother was killed by a Hollow. I'm sure you'll agree that's enough of a reason by itself... but there's still more to it than that. After all the agony I suffered, I wanna make sure others don't suffer the way I did. My father and my sisters went through so much pain after Mom was killed. It was so hard for me to watch. That is something I don't ever wanna see again...the sadness on their faces. I'm not a superhero. I know that I can't protect everybody in the world...but that doesn't mean I'm gonna be content protecting only the people I can hold in my arms either. I am going to protect as many people as I possibly can! Your method of using bait to deliberately draw Hollows here just to prove a point is only endangering innocent lives. I don't agree with that! But right now is not the time for arguments. We gotta work together! You and me! So what do you say? Uryu: What do I say? I say you talk too much. But I understand what you're saying. I have to help you survive this battle, or you won't be around for me to kick your butt later! Ichigo: Sounds like a plan!

Uryu: Watch and witness the true power of the... Ichigo: (kicks Uryu) Shut up already! Uryu: What is your problem?! Ichigo: You messed up your own story! Your Sensei wouldn't want you to prove the strength of the Quincy's. You said it yourself... his greatest wish was for Quincy's and Soul Reapers to work together. Isn't that right? Come on... think about it! When will you ever have a better chance to do that than right here, surrounded by enemies? You say we're at opposite poles, but I say when two warriors are heavily outnumbered, the trick is to fight back to back.

Uryu: (After releasing Ichigo's excessive energy; to himself) Dammit! i need to prove myself again that Soul Reapers are responsible for all this! Forgive me, Sensa. I've aways blamed Soul Reapers for your death, just so I could avoid blaming myself, because I was unwilling to risk my life to save you. But I know you never hated Soul Reapers. Your sincerest wish for Quincies and Soul Reapers to join together, so today I'm going to save this Soul Reaper's life. I'm a weak disciple, Sensa, a weak apprentice unable to give his life for you. Can you ever forgive me, (Outloud) Grandfather? Ichigo: How am I supposed to beat up that guy? He's just so pathetic.

Uryū: Hurry up with that spirit energy already! Ichigo: (stumped) How do I do that? Uryū: You mean you don't know!? What has been your strategy to fighting the hollows all this time?! Ichigo: Just instinct I guess. Uryū: Just instinct? Ichigo: I never did understand much of that spirit energy stuff. I just figured my spirit energy was always at it's maximum. Uryū: That's...impossible!

[English Dub] Ichigo: (looking at the menos and then holds up his sword) Let's go Ishida! Uryū: Ichigo! Don't be stupid! {Runs after Ichigo}

[English Dub] Uryū: What were you thinking?!... Ichigo: Well I figured if I keep chopping way at it like a tree, I would eventually get down to the point where I can whack it on the head. Uryū: This is not some sort of child's game!

Ishida: What the hell were you thinking? How did you intend to beat it with that attack? Ichigo: Well, I thought if I cut it away piece by piece from the feet up, the head would come down. Ishida: That's like some kids' game! For god's sake, your brain must've been constructed unbelievably wrong.

(Ishida and Ichigo are looking at the giant Menos hollow) Ishida: How insanely huge! Ichigo: Eh? There's no point in tryin' to think how to fight a monster like that. Ishida: What? Ichigo: Things like that...(holds up sword) you just slice and dice and cut it down the best you can! There's nothing else to do. Here we go Ishida! (Ichigo charges away) Ishida: Uh..Wait, Kurosaki!

Ishida's sensei: Be it human or Death god, seeing a sad face is unbearable to me.
