Orihime and her friends are being attacked by a hollow who can shoot seeds that control people from its head. Orihime unlocks her hidden spiritual power gaining ccontrol sof ix small fairy-like beings. She uses this power to defeat the hollow. Later Orihime and Chad are taken to Urahara's store where they are told about Shinigami and Hollows. Meanwhile Ishida is starting to believe that something larger is going on because too many Hollows are showing up.moreless

The Hollows attack one of Ichigo's closest friends again, and this time it is Tatsuki and Orihime. As we see the Hollows beating up on Ichigo and Orihime's classmates, we get to see the relationship that Orihime and Tatsuki had. The symbolism with Orihime's hair was pretty decently executed, but the up-beat nature of the second half of the episode with Orihime's little spirit helpers kind of ruined the effect of that. Nonetheless thoug, Orihime having spiritual fighting and healing abilities was kind of surprising--but then not again, perfectly fitting the girl arch type of a healer. The humour in this episode felt like it tried way too hard to be funny. I'm sometimes amused by Ichigo's father's relationship with his daughters and son, but it just tried way too hard.moreless

"Superb"

Well, this episode focuses on Orihime. She has noticed a Hollow at their school, and tries to get Tatsuki and Chizuru out of there. However, Tatsuki goes to change, so they have to wait. And that's when three Hollow attacks, with people whom she control. Ooh, this is awesome. And even more so when Tatsuki comes
But, she too gets controlled by that Hollow. Man, how sad. However, the Hollow almost kills her instead, but this only awakens Orihime's powers.
Yeah, they are cool; six small thingies who can do a lot of powerful stuff. They scare Orihime at first, which was pretty comical. However, with their help, Orihime defeats the Hollow and heals Tatsuki.
Later on, both Orihime and Chad were taken in by Urahara, and he starts to talk to them about stuff, and he takes them somewhere to show them something.
Finally, we get Ishida's resolve in this episode, which is really great! Well, yeah, that's what I think at least.

For once Orihime is left to fend for herself when Ichigo doesn't burst in to save the day. Kisuke Urahara always has a way of appearing conveniently before or after a battle, maybe he just likes to watch.moreless

Major Orihime character development. Orihime discovers that she has spiritual powers, enough to protect herself and heal Tatsuki, her fallen protector. The fight between Orihime and the hollow is an emotional one. Before the fight, Orihime flashes back to her junior high days when she was harassed and bullied because of her hair. In cutting her hair she succumb to their taunts and her lack of confidence. When she met Tatsuki, she finally had a defender, someone to protect her from any opposing force. Because of Tatsuki, she was able to grow her hair long again. But for the first time in her life, she had to save the one who had saved her so many times before. The voice acting in the dubbed was amazing, Stephanie Sheh did a wonderful job with the voice of Orihime.moreless

An hallow attacks Orihime and friends.This time Ichigo isn't saving Orihime and the others.When an hallow begin to take over her friend body.But Orihime saved her and she than learn that she has spiritual power.She is able to summon the flowers.Which is the hairpin that her brother gave her.Meanwhile Ichigo sisters begin to take their father to find an man laying on the ground which not there.He begin to think they want his attention.Chad and Orihime are taken to an store.The guy with glasses tells him that he would defeat the hallow's himself.The mysterous guy begin to tell about Hallow and Soul Reapers.Apparently how strong they are.He begin to show what lays beyond the gate.This is an character development between Chad and Orihime.moreless

We really don't see much of Ichigo in this episode or Rukia, but this is still a really good episode. I could not believe that Tatsuki died, but thanx to Orihime she was saved and Ichigo didn't have to suffer with another death. Also, I cannot believe how many hollows are swarming around. I mean one good thing is that they are probably killing hollows that could have, in the future, been destined to kill someone. But this battle is going on and Ichigo doesn't seem to be wavering unlike the other guy. Plus, it was interesting to see a demon who can controls others, alive or dead. This is a really good episode that just revealed some valuable characters that may be destined to help in some great fight.moreless
