While Ichigo is lying on the ground unable to move, Koga is reminded of the time Jin had him care for a young Bount named Cain Nao. Meanwhile Rukia, Orihime and Cloud continue fighting against the female Bount, Yoshi.
  • A pretty sad past.

For once we stroll a little away from the mediocre fighting and get onto watching some actually pretty decent character development stuff. The idea of the Bounts and their dolls is expanded a bit here when Koga was tasked with raising a new Bount. Seeing the newcomer in Cain go from rebellious youth to a hardworking student was satisfying to watch. Those quick shots of them farming really brought about a lot of character development between the two. And the scene with Koga totally being badass and scaring away the towns people? Koga was never really properly introduced in the past episodes but what a great first impression! Cain's death scene wasn't anywhere near tear jerking, but if we spent a little more time on him, it would have been an effective death scene. Seeing him perish into sand in an instant was pretty disturbing yet emotional. And then the whole episode ends beautifully with the Vice Captains coming in at the right time to save Ichigo's ass. More mediocre fighting scenes!moreless
  • In this episode, we learn more about Koga Gawa.

This episode was... decent, i guess. We learn about a young boy that Koga Gawa's past where Jin asks him to train and care for a boy named Cain. Cain dies and Koga Gawa feels it's all his fault. How he feels reminds me of how Rukia used to feel about Kiyaan's death. She felt it was her fault that he died as well, at least before she apologized to his family. Not much action in this episode, but some character development. We also get to see Jin cry for the first time. I'm looking forward to the next episode, which will hopefully continue Ichigo and Rukia's fight.moreless
  • As he faces Ichigo, Koga Gowa recalls his past, and his friendship with a young Bount named Cain, who Ichigo reminds him of.

    "Mediocre"
Extremely boring and unnecessary. I think its fine to try to add some character background to the Bount, but spending an entire episode for that was too much. It almost looks as if theyre trying to have as many filler episodes as possible, which is logical, not only for commercial reasons, but also to let the manga develop, but if theyre going to do that, at least let us have some decent plot.

The only highlight of the episode was the appearence of a familiar shinigami at the end -and one of my favorites-. The Shinigami Zukan was quite good too, but this weeks joke is not so funny if you dont understand japanese.moreless
  • All about Koga Gowa's past.

This episode was not fun to watch at all, unlike the other episodes. I thought it was boring and it didn't matter. Episode 82 leaves off in a spot that you want to know more at, but instead of continuing the story, the plot goes to a pointless flashback. Because they left off at an intense part, that's why they may have left you hanging.
This episode was definitely annoying, seeing as when it came up and what it was about. Koga Gowa's past really means nothing and my poor opinion of him didn't change in the least after watching the memory either. Personally, I thought this was a waste of twenty-five minutes.moreless
  • I don't really care about Koga Gowa past.

Besides that, this episode was a waste except the part about how to summon a doll. Its interesting how if your not strong enough, your doll can kill you like it did Cain. It was stupid how Kariya was crying when Cain died. Another thing that was stupid was how Kira came to Icihgo rescue. It should have been Hitsugaya or somebody else.
