With Rukia taken prisoner by Renji and Byakuya, Ichigo plans his counterattack with Urahara. He plans on, or was forced to, train with the shop owner for ten days, while waiting for the gate to Soul Society to erect. Okay, that was all the good parts that happened in this episode; the bridge to the Soul Society arc. Everything else, it was just all trash talking and lame badass comebacks and insults. "Hoy! Look at me when you're talking!", "You think I would be dead just because of that?" Actions speak louder than words and there was just way too much dialogue, although Byakuya was really badass.moreless

Ichigo starts to pull a big come-back as he now has Renji at a disadvantage. Ichigo is now too fast for Renji as Renji takes one blow after another.Then as Ichigo starts to deliver the finishing blow, Byakuya comes in and not only breaks Ichigo's Zanpaktou but also destroys (not literally) him in seconds without anyone seeing it happen. Ichigo (hanging onto his life by a thread) still intends to fight but Rukia kicks his hand off of her step-brother Byakuya's foot and tells Ichigo to never touch her brother again (for his own protection) and to not follow her into the soul society or she will never forgive him. (again for his own protection)moreless

Ichigo is still battling Renji. Uhana is standing still waiting for the right moment. Ichigo's spirt energy was alot he was about to kill Renji, but to my surprise Uhana sliced hes sword. Rukia went back to the Soul Society. This epsiodew was like, "OMG". I thought Ichigo was actually going to die. Because Renji's blade, was retracting in his solider blade. And you know that has to hurt u can feel it if ur really into this story. But then he picked himself up after his blood was ozing out. Then wat amazed me was that Ichigo, got right back up. Plus he was bleeding so much. While Ichigo was fighting Renji. He was going at it like there was no stopping him. And when he was really about to kill Renji. Uhana, he sliced Ichigo's sword in half!!!! I was so astonished. And u know how his blade is thick like a mug. Then Ichigo didn't want Rukia to leave and she said, "Don't touch my brother with your touch." As she kicked his hand away with her weak little leg. I didn't even know she had a brother. I felt sorrry for him, afterwardsmoreless

Bleach Episode 17

To me, as a new Bleach follower, is the turning point of the show. up until now, ichigo has only had to fight easy hollows which could be taken down in 1 hit. but on the good side, the first 16 episodes gave excellent introduction into what begins after episode 17.
in this episode we finally get to see the true power of a Death God, Rukia's brother(?) Byakuya. Byakuya is a true force to be dealt with, as Ichigo learns the hard way.
as Byakuya is about to kill Ichigo, Rukia agrees to go with her brother back to soul society, thus saving ichigo. when ichigo passes out, the Kuchikis go back to soul society. when ichigo wakes up, he is in urahara's store. urahara then tells ichigo that his death god powers are gone, and asks ichigo if he would like to train for 10 days before attempting to save Rukia. obviously, ichigo accepts. this episode is a perfect transition into the next segment of bleach. overall, this episode is one of the strongest bleach episodes ever written.moreless
