Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • Hitsugaya's bankai is revealed. It is called "Daiguren Hyourinmaru" or "Great Crimson Ice Ring".

    • Matsumoto Rangiku's zanpakutou is named Haineko, or Ash Cat, and it turns to ash at the cry, "Growl, Haineko!"

    • Kira Izuru's zanpakutou is named Wabisuke, or apology, and it doubles the weight of anything that it hits. It is released from the cry "Raise your head, Wabisuke!"

    • Shinigami Golden: Kon wonders why his sexy body is attached to Jinta's leg and then determines to get it back. The soccer match starts and Jinta has the ball when Kon leaps at him. The other kids wonder what's going on and say that Kon and Jinta are breaking the rules, but Ururu (who is acting as referee) states that it's allowed. Ichigo pops up at the end, wondering why the Shinigami Golden moment isn't focusing on Shinigami.

    • During battle with Kira, Matsumoto's sword becomes too heavy for her to handle, as an effect of his zanpakutō. He then tells her that her sword now weighs 102.4 kilograms, which is approximately 225 pounds (the original sword weight is .8 kilograms).

  • QUOTES (10)

    • Izuru: Instead of chasing me, asking pointless questions about orders and official seals, shouldn't you be more concerned about protecting Momo?
Hitsugaya: (gasps) What are you talking about? She's perfectly safe! She's...
Izuru: Not in the Squad 10 barracks, if that's what you're thinking. You put a force field around the room, didn't you? A Kyomon... a high level force field that repels attacks from the outside. So you left her there, thinking she'd be safe. But that force field is meant to keep out... not in. Breaking a force field like that would be child's play for her. And she could put a force field around herself to hide her spiritual pressure while moving about. You didn't even notice, did you? She's been right behind you... following you the entire time.

    • Aizen: What you're looking at here is not a corpse doll.
      Isane: But when did he...?
Aizen: When did I what? I've been standing here holding it the whole time, it's been right in font of you, you simply weren't able to see it. That's because I didn't allow you to see it until just now.
      Isane: What do you mean?
Aizen: You'll soon understand. I'm going to release my zanpakuto. Shatter, Kyoka Suigetsu. This is my zanpakuto, Kyoka Suigetsu, it's ability is perfect...hypnosis.

    • Hitsugaya Toshiro: Now, Aizen. You've talked enough. Time to die.

    • Aizen: Thank you, Momo. I thank you from the bottom of my heart... and goodbye. (stabs her with his zanpakuto)

    • Kira: (from the Japanese version of this episode having English subtitles where he refers to the effect of his zanpakutō after Matsumoto's sword has struck it seven times): If that sword's true weight is .8 kilograms, then, after multiplying it by two to the power of seven, it will be 102.4 kilograms.

    • Aizen Sōsuke: Admiration is the emotion farthest from comprehension.

    • Unohana: Captain Aizen. No, I suppose I should not call you "Captain" any longer. Perpetrator of high treason, Aizen Sōsuke.

    • Aizen: (After defeating Hitsugaya Tōshirō) Its not the season, but seeing ice this time of year isn't bad.

    • Aizen: There is nothing easier to manipulate than a person who admires you.

    • Aizen: I wonder if at the very least I should have diced her into tiny pieces so that you wouldn't be able to find her.

  • NOTES (3)

    • Aired on YTV: September 20th, 2008.

    • Japanese Title: 絶望の真実、振り下ろされた凶刃
Romaji Title: Zetsubou no shinjitsu, furiushiro sareta kyoujin

    • Aizen reveals the powers of the shikai release of his zanpakutō, the power of complete hypnosis. According to Aizen, it allows him to fool all the senses of anyone that sees him perform the shikai of the sword. Since Tōsen-taichou is blind he is immune to the affects.
