Blonde vs. Bear

Show Summary

Blonde vs. Bear is a new documentary television series that premiered on Animal Planet on March 17, 2011. The main subject in the show, and blonde in question, is animal rights activist Ann Bryant. Bryant has made it her mission to save bears that have moved onto people's property in the Lake Tahoe area. These animals are often killed by officials or homeowners themselves and Bryant has made it her job to steer them back to safety. In the series premiere, for example, Bryant goes out to chase a bear found sleeping under the porch of a summer home during tourist season. Television crews follow Bryant as she goes through the process of driving the bear out and back into the woods. Nicknamed, "Madelyn," by Bryant, viewers witness how the activist uses gruff sounds and puffs to signal aggressiveness to the bear before eventually getting to the animal to return to its original habitat. Though the show has garnered obvious comparisons to the popular series, "Man vs. Wild," Bryant's rough-edged personality provides an entertaining watch for viewers.moreless
