Blood Strangers

Show Summary

Blood Strangers is a UK crime drama produced by Granada Television and directed by Jon Jones. Written by Gwyneth Hughes, the television drama stars Caroline Quentin and Paul McGann. Lin Beresford (Caroline Quentin) is a distraught mother whose teenage daughter, Emma (Lucy Hodgkinson), is found murdered. Seeking the truth, Lin meets DC David Ingram (Paul McGann), a police officer assigned as her liaison to cope with the crime. Under pressure from both his family and the constraints of his role as a Detective Constable, Paul attempts to help Lin in her search for answers surrounding Emma's untimely death. When Lin meets Claire Dyson (Sheridan Smith), a teenage prostitute known as Jas, she believes that the truth is ever closer. The one-off TV crime mystery delves into the sordid world of prostitution, focusing on the plight of teenage girls and the people who control them. Receiving a nomination for the prestigious Prix Italia television award, Blood Strangers runs for 90 minutes.
