Once Vicki and Henry hook up she seems to get past the fact that he is a vampire pretty quickly. Pragmatic woman to say the least. Very interesting dialogue between the two but I must admit I was surprised at the ease in which she fed him so soon in their relationship. She also seems very comfortable being with him as well. We'll see how close they really get? Remember she can not be swayed by his charms.

The expression play with fire and you'll get burned seemed to be appropriate for this episode. Norman of course has no idea what he is playing with. You have to appreciate some of the examples Henry gives like Stalin's Massacre in the Soviet Union and the Black Plague in Europe to really understand the evil involved here.

Mike seems a little clueless at the end to what just happened except that it was obviously some very bad mojo. I agree with Vicki, "I wouldn't want to be the one writing that report" either.

I must admit I find Huff's books hard to read at times. It will be interesting to see the development of these characters and where the series goes from here. Currently there are the two seasons and the show is supposedly in hiatus but I have not heard of additional episodes being shot.

The first season is just out on DVD and I will be watching the complete first season in order. It should be fun! Thanks for reading...moreless

OMG I loved it, loved it, loved it!!!! I am going to start a Henry/Vicki shipper fan club! Wow Henry is not only undead but hot and I would fall for him anyday. I can't wait for this team to take on the forces of Vodoo next week. I am so taping it Think it is too early for DVDs to come out LOL
Ok about the episode that has me a little confused did Henry kill the bad deman with his words and then because of the bad guy being taken/sucked in by the deman I take it he still is alive???
And what up with Vicki's arms I am so curious to what they mean and what will come about them?????moreless

  • This show could turn out to be one of my favourite shows on tv at the moment.

I wasnt sure i was going to like this show. Seriously,i sat down and watched the first 10 minutes the first time, went away and did something else and didnt watch the rest for a couple of days. I really didnt think it was going to be much good,as it seemed to be a bit slow moving and i was in no hurry to watch the rest of it.
WHen i came back and sat down to actually watch the rest of the episodes,i was hooked immediately. I really think the friendship between Henry and Vicki is due to be a good one,and the whole thing with Mike is bound to get more exciting as he tries to figure out what the hold that Henry has over Vicki is.
I am very much looking forward to watching the next episode of this show, and im even going to buy the books!
A great watch,i would definitely recommend it. :)moreless
  • Great Potential ... loads of possibilities.

The second hour was definitely better than the first. The first little bit just screamed low-budget Canadian production - but things quickly improved. I'm glad they opted to air both parts back-to-back because I think many people would have not come back for more.

The second part really showed the cast and crew jelling as a team. There was more action - sharper dialogue - more comic relief. That's not that it didn't exist in the first part, but it played better on screen as the show continued.

The 3 leads all have good chemistry and that's something that is sure to improve as the season progresses. Christina Cox does very well playing strong, independent women.

This series definitely has potential. I'm looking forward to seeing what other characteristics and history will be brought up from the Blood Books and incorporated.moreless

    • (Celluci has broken into Vicki's office) Vicki: Should I call the cops, or do you just want to arrest yourself!

    • (Henry describes being turned into a vampire) Henry: She drank my blood and I drank hers. I died and returned from death. She showed me the ways of the night. Our lovemaking was like we were on fire. Vicki: You should work in recruitment.

    • Henry: I haven't met anyone quite like you in over a lifetime. Vicki: Well, you know, five-hundred years old or not, you and I start hanging out together, people will start to say I'm robbing the cradle. Henry: I'm willing to take that chance if you are. Vicki: (stares) Must be that vampire magnetism I find so tempting. Henry: My powers of persuasion don't work on you. Vicki: Then I guess it's just you. (Vicki puts on her glasses) Past your bedtime, isn't it?

    • Henry: Victoria... Vicki: Vicki. Victoria was an overweight queen. Henry: She wore it well, though. Trust me.

    • Henry: You're beautiful. (Vicki smiles) Vicki: Chop Chop, mister.

    • Vicki: It was weird working with you but I enjoyed it. Henry: Good. This won't be the end for us. Vicki: No? Henry: You gave me your blood. You're part of me now. Vicki: You know feel free to call me if you need to hunt down any demons.

    • Vicki: So she fed on you? Henry: That's one reason to take a mortal lover. Vicki: Didn't you notice the marks on your neck? Henry: My neck wasn't the only place she put her mouth.

    • (While looking into a mirror with Henry) Vicki: Hey, I can see you. Man, another vampire myth blown to bits! (Henry grins) Henry: But that's not what I'm using it for.

    • Demon: (to Henry in ancient England) Finish the ritual, Nightwalker, use his blood to bring me through. The power will be yours.

    • Henry: I've lived a long time… almost 500 years. Vicki: Wow! Yeah, I wouldn't have pegged you for a day over 450. Henry: I use a great moisturizer.

    • Henry: (to Vicki) I didn't kill that woman, I was trying to stop it.

    • When Vicki notices Henry's reflection next to hers in a mirror, she remarks, "Man, another vampire myth blown to bits!" Vampire lore states that vampires don't have reflections since they have no souls. However, where this series is concerned, that is absolute myth.
