I'm sorry, but I just can't help but laugh every time I see that douche. He is by far the most corny/cheesy villian I have ever seen on tv.

    Who agrees?

I think what makes him so villiany is that he's so desperate, he'll do anything for power. Do I think he's the worst villian ever? Not really.

Well I think that's pretty much how he's supposed to be. He's not the "villian type" because that's just his dorky character.

To put it plainly... Norman is a geek (This is seen more in the book though I suppose) and a total outcast whowas made fun of by his classmates so he becomes desperate for power because they shunned him. So his social skills HAVE to be slacking, right? This makes him corny and cheesy.

I think he's an okay villan. I mean, how many loosers do you know who will call upon a demon? (Especially because, in the book at least, he uses random crud to call up the thing).

So here he is, looking for power, really having no clue, and pretty much stuck in looser-ville by his peers. Yeah, he's an okay villan.

I don't think Norman is the worst villain ever, but I don't think he is the best villain either.

I think the guy was real entertaining in the "Norman" episode. "Wicked awesome" and all that

    He's a sterotype, and a "what if"

I mean really, what would a nerdy guy do if he discovered how to summon a demon that caused him to be increasingly unstable. For the stereotype that he fits they would want acceptance, and they assume this is based on money, style, and girls.

By that criteria, it would be logical to label most of Earths population as a stereotype

Especially Norman as Henry. That was just too cute for words. Kyle pulled it off real well, you actually believe that it's Norman and not him.

Great accessment...I completely agree. I don`t believe that Norman was intended to come across as a "career" villain.

The actor who played Norman also played a murder suspect on Psych. There his character was a revenge driven techno-dweeb (who was actually innocent). I found both characters to be quite different, and well realized for there rolls.

Norman was supposed to be a geek who was on the edge from not being accepted, that between failing (again) to become popular and the affects of the demon, becomes more, and more erratic. In the end going completely insane. I feel the actor, while going a bit over the top, did a good job. Part of the problem with his roll was the difference between the book, and a TV show. In the book there was more time to show him slowly going crazy, and the steps (and their causes) along the way. In the show they had to rapidly move from unbalanced to crazy with only a little exposition to explain why.

No. I'd say Norman Osborn was the best villain in Spectacular Spiderman. He's quite complex. While Tombstone was plain evil, I don't get that impression with Norman. While I am shocked at many of his actions, spasmodically I can't help liking him. He's been drawn very charismatically in Spectacular Spiderman as well and they have used a good voice actor. While I don't believe this "split personality" eplanation given in other versions, I do think that he does have meglomania or some kind of mental illness (not that this condones his actions. It doesn't. He should get psychiatric help). I wouldn't say he is "innocent" as other versions seem to imply or has amnesia spells and such. He's certain;ly manipulative, and I would say a control freak. Yet, I think the green formula diod drive him a bit crazy. At the end of the series, I have the impression Harry was sorry for his dad when he said "He was sick. Spiderman should have helped him. He was a victim of the green and I know what it is like to be on that stuiff". Naturally, Norman is Harry's father and he still has affection for him. I'm very divided on Norman actually but he's definitely a better villain than Tombstone. Tombstone's just evil whereas with Norman it doesn't seem quite as simple.
