I am really going to have to go back and read Tanya Huff's books. The monsters on this show seem to be very similar to the ones on similar type shows seen a very short time before this show and they aren't done as well. The Wendigo which is based on an Indian Spirit Legend is a great mythological cannibal. I would have liked to see a clearer shot of the creature as that is one of the truly horrible things about them. Otherwise it just wasn't that scary. Also, what was it doing in the Toronto sewer system? Not a place you would usually find very solitary creatures that like secluded places.
The fact it had been feeding on the homeless was interesting and it definitely would not like fire. I have not heard of the silver bullet theory but it made for a nice story line to bring things full circle.
I really hadn't been paying attention to Vicki's bookkeeping efforts up to this point but if she is making the kind of coin she is asking for you have to wonder where she is spending it or her rent must be truly outrageous. She must have cleared $3000 in that last case alone. $500 a day plus expenses... Oh well, it makes for a good story thread.
I am not sure Vicki or any woman I have met would forgive Mike for what he did any time in the coming years. He really betrayed her trust even if he thought he was doing it for a good reason. He never really did investigate this character who claimed to work for the Vatican. Julian Sands was great in this role if not a little over the top. Also, wouldn't he have to be a lot older than he appears to know everything he does about Henry. It almost seems personal in nature. One thing we do have to take into account for Mike is his obvious jealous rage based on the last episodes final attack by the siren of Henry.
I hope they can save Henry's friend the artist before she parishes. We'll see how this all goes in the second part of this episode. Thanks for reading...
