  • Well, it's a good transition episode at the very least.

Saya, Riku and Kai return to Okinawa for a breather. That's more or less all that happens in this episode.

Saya catches up with Kaori, whom I absolutely cannot stand, by the way. I don't know, she's just boring. Anyways, the important thing here was that Saya realized she's just not the same anymore (like, duh?).

The other thing was probably the barbecue. Kai's buddies showed up for a barbecue on the beach and everyone was just chilling and having a good time.

I liked the scene with Riku and Haji the best. In spite of myself, I'm beginning to like Riku a little. He's just so cute and caring! Maybe he's really not bad.moreless
  • Saya, Kai, and Riku return to Okinawa before their next leg of the journey. They go to George's family tomb to say their final goodbye. Meeting up with some friends, the trio and Hagi share a few moments of peace as dark clouds gather on the horizon.moreless

I rated this ep as good. I like character development, so even the slow, dialogue driven eps are cool. This ep further highlighted Riku's inocence and Kai's desire to be the man of the family. I personally like the recurent family theme in this series- like when Saya says something like 'I need to find out who I am...or what I am', and Riku says 'you are part of the family'. I like too that Saya wants to keep in touch with her 'human' side. I didn't understand the still-shots of her and Kai and Riku with the fireworks the first time through, but now I think that highlights their last moments of peace and joyful existence.moreless
